Principal's Message
Dear Springer Families:)
You may have been thinking, “How can I help get the word out about our fantastic Springer neighborhood school?” Well there is a wonderful opportunity for our parents, with preschool age children, to learn more about us and how our children thrive and love Springer. On May 29th, there will be a presentation at the Little Acorn Christian Preschool for parents who are deciding where their child will attend kindergarten this fall. Our Assistant Superintendent, Sandra McGonagle, will present. One of our Kindergarten teachers and I will also attend to answer any questions. Please get the word out to our community by sharing your experience and the flyer through this link. Go Springer Stingers!
This weekend is a time to remember the service and sacrifice of many of our military members and families. Through their lives we are able to enjoy the freedom of speech, the privilege of voting, and to make individual decisions in regards to many aspects of our lives. Though our nation may not be perfect, may we all stand proud of the values and rights we have under its flag. I am headed out to visit my dad in Arizona who, by the way, flies his flag everyday with great pride and gratitude. I wish each of you a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with family and friends.
Warmly,
Robin

Hot Lunch Volunteer Opportunities for 2019/2020
We are seeking volunteers to join the Hot Lunch crew for 2019-2020. The Hot Lunch program would not be possible without the 20+ volunteers that come in every week to serve lunch! The lunch volunteer shift is from 11:25-12:15, one day per week, or alternating weeks. Volunteers receive a credit for a free Choicelunch meal for every volunteer slot they fill. Contact Emily Fuller (at HotLunch@springerpta.net) to join the lunch crew or if you’d like more information.

In preparation for choosing a musical instrument to play in 5th grade, the LASD Music Department will host an instrument selection event called “Instrument Quest” for all 4th grade students in the district. Your child will be able to try out every instrument we offer in our Band and Orchestra (flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello).
This is a great opportunity to see which instrument best suits your child. Parents are welcome to ask questions and to meet the LASD Music teachers.
