1/5/24
Thank You Purple Heart Community! Together Our Mission Has Been Possible!
Dearest members of our Purple Heart Tribe,
I am forever grateful for the 5 years I have had the opportunity to serve our Hero Community. It is both with a heavy heart and sense of adventure that I have accepted a leadership role at La Nube Children's Science Museum, which will be openning later this year. My last date on campus will be Friday, 1/12/24. Our district has made arrangements for an Interim Principal to support our campus during the transitional period, and interview dates have been set for the process of selecting your new campus principal. Our disrict has a support plan to ensure our staff and families are in good hands during this transition.
That being said, I want to take time to say thank you for all the community support and spirit you have shown these past years. Together, we have survived a Global Pandamic, shared amazing celebrations, and worked together to ensure our scholars are learning at high levels.
I am thankful for your kindness, giving nature, and strength. Just this week, our school was recognized for your tremendous contributions to homeless veterans in El Paso, during the Homeless Veterans Stand Down in Fall. When I think of instances like this and I think of all the volunteers and military units who have supported events like our monthy drive-thru food pantries, I know that this community is surrounded by families who are committed to our Hero Mantra of, "making this world a better place, one person, and one action at a time."
Parents, thank you for partnering with staff to help teach scholars to lead with heart, feel empathy when interacting with others, embrace differences, and learn from their mistakes. Thank you for helping us teach our scholars what it means to be a true Hero, and that, with hard work and grit, they will have endless opportunities ahead of them.
I wish you a strong end to the school year and hope to continue building our relationships in my new role. Our assistant principals are also available to support your needs. Their contact information is as follows: Elizabeth Saucedo (Grades 3-5) 915-938-2204 and Elizabeth Marquez (Grades PK-2) 915-938-2203. You may also contact our counselors at the following numbers: Art Escajeda 915-938-2211 and Eden Benero 915-938-2213. Thank you for your time,
With Much Love,
Deana White
