Winter Walk--Thursday, December 8th
Join us in celebrating the 23rd Annual Winter Walk! Experience downtown Northfield by candlelight! Stroll through, unique shops, dine at fine restaurants, enjoy caroling, sleigh rides, storytelling, luminarias, decorated store fronts and much more!
Attendance Letters
Some of you have received an attendance letter due to your child being tardy or absent from school. Please know that these are form letters generated by Skyward system. Our main objective is to let you know how many days your child has be late or absent from school; these days can add up quickly and we want your child in school when they are well enough to attend. You are always welcome to call if you have any questions or concerns.
Morning Drop Off
Morning drop-off is a busy time, as many of you know. There is a lot going on, especially with the addition of ice and snow. Please make sure that you stay in the car line, pull ahead to drop off your child, and continue on your way. Don't park and walk across the parking lot unless you have a meeting with someone. This will help keep you and your child safe. Thank you very much!
Community School
Hello Families!
Session Two Update:
The second session of Community School will begin on January 3rd, 2023! We will have brand new club options that we think students will love. We will be sending out the registration link NEXT WEEK to register for the second session, so stay tuned!
After School Programs:
We want to hear from you! Please take a moment and complete our survey for our after school programs! You will also be entered into a drawing for a $20 gift card for completing the survey! English survey and Spanish survey here.
I would like to say THANK YOU for everyone's quick response and understanding on Tuesday. This Minnesota weather is unpredictable, so I appreciate your help when we have to change plans quickly.
This week students in the Music and Dance club continued practicing their holiday recital (parents of Music and Dance club kiddos- stay tuned for more information on dates and times coming soon!) and in the Big Buddies club, our Rice county 4-H came in to teach students about pumpkins and they even made pumpkin pie together!
Evening Program:
Our next evening program will be Wednesday, December 7th from 5:30-7:30pm. We will be hosting River Bend Nature Center again!
The topic is: Animals of the Night
Owls, bats, and possums, oh my! Animals of the night may seem scary, but they are misunderstood because we don't see them frequently. Come learn all about these animals of the night with a River Bend naturalist, then go on a short flashlight hike to look for some of these animals.
Winter Break Programming:
Northfield Community School will be offering care for elementary students during winter break! Please register your child(ren) if you are interested. The dates and times are as follows:
Tuesday, December 27, 9am-11:30am
Wednesday, December 28, 9am-11:30am
