Maynard Public Schools

Wednesday, October 26th from 6-8 pm there will be an Open House for the Middle School students and their families. We nicknamed it "Choose MHS" and the goal is to showcase all the great things that MHS has to offer! Activities of the night include a student panel, Q&A session, tours, hands-on activities, a pasta dinner, and other opportunities to see and hear about MHS.

I am excited to share that monthly forums are being created to share information about MPS. The first forum was on October 19, after-school programs and extracurriculars; for planning purposes, the next few forums are as follows:

• Wednesday, November 9 - Guidance & Counseling Services

• Wednesday, December 14 - Substance Abuse & Youth

• Wednesday, January 11 - High School Pathways and Opportunities

After the event, the presentation will be posted on our website for easy viewing if you aren't able to make the actual day and time.

We will distribute the COVID test to all interested families next week. These can be used as we approach the Thanksgiving season, and often families travel and have out-of-town visitors. If you don't want to use the tests, please share them with a family member or return them to the office. Please see the communication from the building principal for specific distribution information.

The Winter Athletics Season is quickly approaching! If your child plans on participating in a Winter Athletics Program, please fill out the registration form linked here!

Lyndell’s Pie Fundraiser

For MHS Band & Chorus Disney Trip

What you need to know:

1. The music students have partnered with Lyndell’s bakery in Somerville for this tasty individual* fundraiser

2. Lyndell’s is offering Pumpkin, Apple, Blueberry and Lemon pies

3. Please order your pies by Monday, November 6th on the Disney Trip page at http://maynardmusic.org/disney-2023-fundraising/

4. All pies will be delivered to MHS for pickup and distribution by music families on Sunday, November 20th.

*Individual fundraiser benefits the student who participants directly.

The Green Meadow Elementary School project team has submitted its second MSBA submission! This submission is called the Preferred Schematic Report (PSR) and it advances the initial existing conditions verification, educational visioning & programming and Owner / Community coordination into multiple design alternatives, shows MSBA the design alternative evaluation process taken by the project team, and highlights which design alternative was ultimately selected at the end of the process.

We are excited to invite you to our "Family Movie Party" on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 1:30 PM where we will host a showing of Hotel Transylvania along with popcorn, drinks, candy, and Halloween goodies provided as part of your ticket. Costumes are encouraged!

Tickets are $8 a person, and children must be chaperoned and supervised by a parent/guardian. Attending parents/guardians require a ticket as well.
