GMS Latinx Celebrated by the EMSD37 School Board
Glenview Gators are off to a GREAT start!
We are excited to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. Glenview Middle School is built on strong community connections and culture along with strong family support, and a dedicated faculty and staff. The GMS administration, faculty, and staff are excited to welcome students, families, and community volunteers into the building and make this the best year yet.
We are dedicated to making every moment at school...
- Productive and Respectful
- Healthy and Responsible
- Safe
Productive and Respectful: We encourage all students to take part in activities and athletics. We know that students that are engaged and active within their school and community have high rates of success.
Healthy and Responsible: We encourage students to make healthy choices and keep their body and mind strong.
Safe: Be a good sport in and out of the classroom and on and off of the field - If you See Something, Say Something!
As we all work together at GMS the following are ways that families can support their student and their educational journey...
Make sure your student attends school daily and arrives on time, ready to learn
Ensure technology comes to school with your student and is charged
Help your student manage their time and complete assignments
Ask your student about their day, so that you are aware of their school life
Planning for next week:
NWEA MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessment begins Monday, August 28. Arriving to school on time, eating a healthy breakfast, and getting a good night’s rest are just a few things you can do at home to help our students do their best on this assessment.
Teachers will share your student’s math and reading scores with you during conferences. We use this data to make decisions about our instructional practices, set goals with students, and to celebrate our students’ achievement and overall growth. Below is a link that you might find helpful to better understanding the MAP assessment.
Enjoy Every Moment and Have a GATOR Day!

Attendance Matters
Research shows that attendance in the first 30 days of school sets the stage for the rest of the year. At Glenview Middle School, we are striving to increase the number of students who are present at school for over 90% of school days. Consistent attendance sets predictable, healthy routines that students can carry with them throughout their time here.
If you have any questions or concerns about your students' attendance please reach out to their Counselor. Attend today, achieve tomorrow!
