Edition 7, November 29-December 10
Happy Merry Everything!
Admin Corner
Beginning November 29, when our school doors lock at 9:15, all those entering the building must present a valid photo ID. This includes students arriving after 9:15. A current student ID will suffice, but in the event that the student doesn't have one, a state-issued ID is acceptable. Should the student not have a license, a member of the safety and security team will need to verify the student.
Also beginning November 29, seniors will no longer be dismissed before the 4:03 bell.
Families, please assist us in ending the food deliveries coming through our building. Should a student not bring something for lunch with them from home, they are welcome to enjoy school lunch in the cafeteria at no charge.
Please remember if you're decking - or walking - our halls, don your favorite mask.

COLLECTIONS TAKING PLACE - PLEASE CONTRIBUTE AS YOU CAN!
Check your closets!
As we enter the holiday season, please take a look through your closets for any gently used winter wear such as coats, gloves, hats and scarves for CAMPUS's winter drive for the American Red Cross November 30-December 15. Please bring in donations to the collection boxes outside of the main office.
Gift Card Drive
The National Honor Society is collecting gift cards to benefit Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter. Please send in cards (e.g. Target, Walmart, grocery stores, gas stations, or general ones like Visa or Mastercard) to Ms. Allen in Room 2200 from November 29 to December 17.
Thank you for your charitable love for others in our area at these times!
Remember to check out the ICC website for organizations that might interest you. You can also accrue service hours as part of the Knights Give Back service program. Check out your graduating class' Schoology course for volunteer opportunities.
ATHLETICS
Check out the JCHS athletics website for the full schedule of winter sports.
Senior Capstone
Seniors interested in the Knights Take Charge Capstone Experience must submit their applications by December 3. Did you miss the info night on Tuesday? Here are the slides, which include the Schoology course code. Hope you'll join in for the inaugural year of Capstone at Champe!
If you/your company is interested in mentoring a JCHS senior for a capstone experience, please contact the Capstone Coordinator (meghan.bonner@lcps.org) to be included in an on-going list for students that may need a place to connect. Thank you!

Attention Class of 2022
As a reminder, graduation is scheduled for 7pm on June 17, 2022 at Eagle Bank Arena on the campus of George Mason University.
With that, the final round of senior payments are posted in the online payment portal! You can now pay for all things graduation, including caps and gowns, celebration lunch on the last day of school for seniors, and breakfast before graduation rehearsal. When you access the portal for the "Senior Activities" line item, you'll see a drop down list for the three graduation-related items. Please note that you will have to select each and click "add to cart" for each item.
Thank you to the families that have paid; we are at about 17% of the class that has paid for a graduation cap and gown. What can we get to before winter break?
Please email meghan.bonner@lcps.org if you encounter any trouble.
The John Champe Library will be hosting its 3rd Annual Winter Book Fair in partnership with Bookworm Central December 13-16! Visit the Polar Bear Book Fair in the Champe Library, open each day from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
