Sick & Late Policy
It's that time of the year again! Germs everywhere! Please remember that your child should be fever free (without medicine) and not vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school. Thank you for following this policy and keeping our Stewart Family healthy! If your child will be late or absent, please contact the office before 9:00 am by email at jmcgovern@lpslancer.net or call 269-428-1418. You may leave a voicemail at any time. Mrs. McGovern checks it multiples times during the day. It is required by the state to report the reason for an absence so please share the reason/symptom and/or type of illness if known. Late students need to be signed in by an adult in the office. Thank you!
Daily Schedule
PTO Corner
Our next PTO community meeting is on February 13th right after school, we hope to see you there! Child care will be provided, so skip the pick-up line and come into the school for the meeting!
The Spring Book Fair is March 4-8th! There will be opportunities for kids to shop during school
hours and also some after school hours for families to shop together. We will be sending out a
link for those who would like to volunteer to help when it gets a little closer. If you are able to
donate your time, we would greatly appreciate it!
Thinking about joining our PTO board?? We would love to have new people join us! Elections
will be held during our last community meeting in April, so you have time to look over the
positions before then on our website. If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to email us
Volunteers Needed!
You are also invited to sign up to volunteer for the POP store! The kids have been enjoying
shopping at the POP store using their POP tickets on Fridays. You have the opportunity to
volunteer (and choose a date/time when your child will be shopping) by signing up here -

Other ways to help out the POP store includes donating money to help stock the store and
purchasing items off of the POP store Amazon wish list. A ‘frequently asked questions’ flier
came home this week to help answer any questions you may have. We appreciate all of your
help in making this such a positive & rewarding experience for our kids! If you have any
questions regarding the POP store, please email stewartpopstore@gmail.com
FUNdraisers!
-We have some FUN events happening this year! If you’re interested in volunteering with the
PTO, please email us at hello@stewart-pto.com. For more information on the PTO and other
helpful information, visit www.stewart-pto.com
*We love to provide fun and enriching opportunities for our students. Please check out these two
great options to donate in order to make those fun things happen:
Benefit App – By signing up for this app, you can purchase gift cards at your own convenience
to pay at participating stores. You can even purchase and use on the spot as you are checking
out. The stores give back a percentage of your purchase to the school!
Box Tops – These are now all online! Easy to scan and give the credit to our school!
Thank you for your continued support and; dedication to the Stewart Family :-)
Coffee & Tea Fundraiser
As the PTO gets back to work for the second semester, we are kicking off with a brand new, exciting fundraiser opportunity! We are partnering with Maple City Roasters based out of Michigan City, IN. They are offering fresh roasted coffee beans and a variety of exotic teas. We will earn 35-45% of the proceeds depending on how much we sell. Check out their amazing selections below!
Order forms will be coming home with your students. Please be on the look out for the forms! You will have until February 7th to collect orders/money. Once completed, you can turn in both the order forms and the money to the office (checks only please, made out to the Stewart Elementary PTO). Coffee will be delivered to and distributed at the school about a week after the closing date.
Thank you for your support in this! We hope to make this a successful fundraising opportunity so we can close our fundraising efforts for the year.
After School Activities
Daddy Daughter Dance
You can pre-register for this event using the form that was sent home with our elementary aged students last week. Walk-ins are welcome the night of the event, too! Have a great time and support the Class of 2024!
