Por favor, desplácese hacia abajo para seleccionar español.
Dear Parents,
This week as an experiment, we have sent the link to this week's La Mesa Update through email AND text. Please take this very quick 2 question survey to let us know how you most prefer to receive these types of communication from the school. https://forms.gle/zBab8KAawo6m8czD6
Please take some time to read through the information below. Much of it applies to our possible return to in-person learning.
Sincerely,
Michele Krantz, principal
Schedule for the Week of March 8th
Return to In-person Learning
Yesterday (Thursday) we hosted an informational meeting for La Mesa parents to go over our return plan. We were very excited to have over 200 La Mesa families attend the informational meeting. If you missed it, the slide deck from this meeting can be accessed through the link below.
Within that file you can see the planned schedule and safety precautions that will be put in place. Students who plan to return have been assigned to either Cohort A or Cohort B. Students who will remain with distance learning were assigned to online only. If you are unsure what you selected back in December, please look at "period 8" on your child's schedule in Infinite Campus or contact your child's counselor.

Mask Guidelines
Must be a 2-ply, surgical type mask (no bandanas, gaiters, or shields-only)
Masks with valves are NOT permitted
Wear your Mask Correctly
- Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before putting on your mask.
- Put the mask over your nose and mouth and secure it under your chin.
- Fit the mask snugly against the sides of your face, slipping the loops over your ears or tying the strings behind your head.
- If you have to continually adjust your mask, it doesn’t fit properly, and you might need to find a different mask type or brand.
- Make sure you can breathe easily.
Please Note: Students who refuse or are unable to correctly wear their mask while on campus will be reassigned to online-only learning.
Technology
Students will have access to classroom Chromebooks as needed. They will be required to sanitize their hands before and after use.
Cell phones will need to be turned off and placed in a backpack before entering campus. They can access it again after they exit the gate at dismissal.
HOWL Points - Would you be willing to donate items for rewards?
You may want to log into your child's account with them to review their points. There are positive notes from teachers and staff that you will find encouraging. You can also review the variety of items available for them to earn.
If you or the company you work for are able, consider donating to our program. There are a number of ways to do this. You can drop off specific items or gift cards. You donate money and we will purchase items on your behalf. Or you can use our wish list on amazon to have items shipped directly to the school. (La Mesa Amazon Wish List) We also welcome ideas for items that you think students would enjoy.
Students can redeem items by logging into their Five Star Student account. The "sign on" link is in the upper right corner of the page.
