EXAM EXEMPTIONS
Exam Exemption Policy (RCPS)
A student who has an “A” average for the school year and has met all financial obligations may exempt a final exam.
A student who has 3 or fewer absences (6 or fewer in a double blocked class) may exempt a final exam if all financial obligations are met. There is no longer a limit of two final exam exemptions per the attendance exemption.
Each set of 5 UNEXCUSED TARDIES to a class counts as 1 absence toward exam exemption (10 tardies = 2 absences towards exam exemption)
The record of unexcused tardies listed in PowerSchool will be the official record in the determining of exemptions.
If a student qualifies for an exemption, he/she is not required to attend the exam period.
With the exception of semester classes, there are NO exemptions for first semester exams.
Students must be clear of all monetary debt to the school in order to be eligible for an exam exemption to be granted.
Being absent on club days DOES COUNT as absences toward the exam exemption policy unless the absence is school-related or excused by an administrator. Attendance at a club is not an absence.
Students with an A in the class can exempt the exam.
There is no limit as to how many exams a student may exempt with an A.
