Although the end of the school year is quickly approaching, we ask that you please review the district’s Close Contact Procedures (English and Spanish) and Student Sick Procedures (English and Spanish) that remain in place. We appreciate your review and ongoing support as we strive to finish this abnormal school year.

Spring PALS assessment: In the coming weeks, students in grade early education through 2 will take the Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening which is required by the state of Wisconsin. There is more information about the test itself contained in this letter including guidelines for our virtual families whose students will take the test at home. In that letter virtual families will also find a link to this materials survey. THE LINK WAS FIXED FROM LAST WEEK

On Sunday, May 16th from 1 - 3 PM, acommunity drive-in baby shower is being held at the Kenosha YMCA (7101 53rd St, Kenosha, WI 53144).

This not a Grewenow/KUSD event. but it is a FREE opportunity to celebrate & educate new and expecting mothers!

There will be speakers, giveaways & raffle prizes which include car seats, diapers, & more! Open the attachment below (in English & in Espanol) for more information and to register for the event.

May is better hearing & speech month. See the image below for information about how our speech-language pathologists, Mrs. Patrizzi and Mrs. Olson, help the students at Grewenow.

Please make sure your child arrives at school with a mask. We are still seeing a number of students arriving to school without a mask. Masks are still required at all times in the building unless students are eating.

End time: 2:26 PM

Fridays: Early Release: 11:21AM

4K: Monday-Thursday: 7:25 - 10:35AM (only)

Please do NOT pull into the Grewenow parking lot to pick up or drop off your student(s) before or after school. We have many students who walk through the lot to line up on the north playground, and we don’t want anyone to run the risk of hitting a walker accidentally. The only vehicles in the lot after school are our buses and they do not depart until after the majority of walkers are off school grounds.

At this time, visitors are not allowed in KUSD buildings. If you need to turn something in or drop something off for your child, you can

• Call 262-359-6362
• Paperwork: can be emailed (jwalton@kusd.edu) or fax 262-359-7706
• Drop something off, ring bell at Door 1 and place it in the Door way

If you need to pick your child up early, call the office ahead of time so we can have them ready. When you arrive, you can come to Door 1 and ring the bell, OR call the office, and we will send them out Door 1 (the new main entrance)

Fridays: Early Release: 11:15AM

4K: Monday-Thursday: 12:30 - 2:15 PM (only)

Any grade 3 or 4 student who hasn't picked up their recorder yet - it is waiting for you!

Otherwise, unless notified by your child's teacher, no new pick ups this week. If families have outstanding items to pick up they may do so at the following times

• Thursdays 12:00 - 2:00PM and supplies are able to be picked up at the Main Entrance.
• Any day of the school week 7:15AM - 3:00PM, families may call ahead to make arrangements to pick up supplies for their student.
• ***Evening time arrangements can also be made with a call in advance on a limited basis***
