Weekly Update March 18, 2022
Head Cheetah's Message
Dear Families,
Today's clear skies and warm weather was the perfect way to end the last week of winter and welcome spring. Students were all smiles as they enjoyed the warm temperatures during recess. This week, we celebrated St. Patrick's Day by wearing green and engaging in a variety of activities, including: graphing Lucky Charms, listening to Irish music, and creating leprechaun traps to try and catch the tricky green guests making a mess in the classrooms. We also continued to work toward our school-wide goal of reading 3,000 books by the end of March. We are so proud of our students and all of the reading they have been doing in an effort to reach this goal. So far, our learners have read over 2,800 books. We’re almost there! This accomplishment has earned our readers two more rewards! Next Friday, March 25th, we will celebrate their recent success with a Pajamas and Popsicles day! As a reminder… Friday, March 25th is an early release day for students, as teachers will be engaged in professional learning activities.
Classroom Tidbits:
Kindergarten- students practiced the problem solving steps they would use when someone takes something away from them.
Grade 1- students were reminded how a little act of kindness changes everything. Students shared ideas for acts of kindness in class and beyond.
Grade 2- students worked on solving problems using the STEP acronym.
Grade 3- students worked on and will continue to practice solving problems with peers.
With appreciation for your partnership,
Joey & Andrea
