Team Behind the Team

It takes a village to raise a child and an army to feed a sports team! There is a well-oiled machine that goes unrecognized at many of our events, the team of parents that band together to make sure that their student along with every other student on the team gets fed. There are football team dinners, volleyball sandwich trays, sack lunches, and countless snacks.

It is our parents who step up to fix sandwiches, prep tacos, and bake cookies that make our jobs that much easier. It is a pleasure working with your kids and we appreciate your support!

What is going on with the points?

This year, new to PHS is our point system. We have an online system to reward students with points for exhibiting behavior that meets our school-wide expectations. Students can use their points to purchase items from the school store or enter into raffles to win bigger prizes. This week Colton Brown (7th grade) and Nathan Cunningham (10th grade) both won two large pizzas from Caseys by using their points to enter the raffle!

Are we going to a 4-day school week?

There is a lot of conversation going on recently regarding the level of community interest in a 4-day school week. At this time, Mr. Laver is collecting feedback from families, teachers, and students regarding their opinions, suggestions, and concerns. Many districts have moved to a 4-day school week for teacher recruitment, cost savings, or for increased family time. There are also concerns that have been expressed regarding childcare, calendars, and the length of the school day.

There are pros and cons to any change, so we would love to hear from you! Send us your thoughts and we will make sure that your voice is heard as conversations continue.

Homecoming Information - Order of Events

Homecoming is around the corner... September 30!

1:30 - Pep Assembly in the HS Gym

2:30 - Homecoming Parade

6:30 - Homecoming Ceremony on the PHS Football Field

7:00 - Homecoming Game vs SE Cherokee

The homecoming dance is immediately following the game in the high school gym. The dance is over at midnight, if students are wanting to bring an outside guest to the dance (must be 20 years old or younger) they must pick up a form in the front office to register their guest.
