August 2023 Federal Publication - US Code Immigration and Nationality
In 1952 the Immigration and Nationality Act became law. The INA has been fairer and more accurate over the years, supplying the most important changes of immigration law: ‘U.S. immigration law is based on the following principles: the reunification of families, admitting immigrants with skills that are valuable to the U.S. economy, protecting refugees, and promoting diversity’ (Sep 14, 2021).
The US Code has 53 titles consisting of broad subjects of general and permanent laws of the United States, published every six years since 1934 with annual supplements. The State Library’s most current is 2006 in paper format; however, federal depository libraries are required to provide paper and/or electronic versions.
