The Good News

Doors are a big part of our lives. We use many kinds of doors every day. We lock doors, knock on doors, hold doors for others, see who is at our door, and open and shut doors more times than would want to count. Doors symbolize opportunity, protection, freedom, new beginnings, separation, privacy, and potential. We remember that in the story of the Three Little Pigs, there was a wolf at their door!

THANK YOU TO ALL CAMPERS, VOLUNTEERS, FAMILIES, PARISHIONERS, and STAFF who helped make our 2023 VBS Shine Jesus’ Light a STELLAR experience for everyone!!

For one week at Holy Trinity, our main levels were transformed into an exploration of space as we enjoyed SHINING JESUS’ LIGHT for the WHOLE WORLD! Each day we learned a new Bible story as we discovered that...

• ...when life feels dark, we can SHINE JESUS’ LIGHT!
• ...when people are sad, we can SHINE JESUS’ LIGHT!
• ...when people don’t get along, we can SHINE JESUS’ LIGHT!
• ...when good things happen, we can SHINE JESUS’ LIGHT!
• ...when people need help, we can SHINE JESUS’ LIGHT!

Our days were full of fun and faith as we created our own kindness rocks and paper lanterns; enjoyed the sunshine with water games, sidewalk chalk, and our large parachute; we conducted science experiments that taught us why stars twinkle and what might happen in a black hole; met inspiring children from around the world as they shared with us how they shine Jesus’ light; and we had a blast acting out our Bible story every day as we dove deeper into God’s Word and message!

A special word of thanks to all those who gave their time and talents before, during, and after VBS...we have an AMAZING team of adult and youth volunteers who brought this year’s VBS to life. And we thank our entire parish family for your generosity with donating materials for our activities, enthusiastically responding to our Wish List needs, and for being a Church who believes in the importance of loving and educating our children in faith. It is an honor to be a part of such a community.

Finally, our children and youth raised almost $180 in our VBS “Kids4Kids” Coin Challenge to purchase Bibles for children in other countries in their own language, so they too can read and learn God’s Word as we SHINE JESUS’ LIGHT! Great job and THANK YOU!

We KICK-OFF Faith Formation

for both Sunday Classes and Family Faith Program!

Families enrolled in our Sunday Class Program are invited for our special "Family & Catechist Meet-N-Greet" at 9:30am where you can meet your teacher, tour your classroom, and get an overview of our program. Sunday classes officially begin on September 24 (9:30am - 10:20am).

Catechetical Sunday Mass - and our first Family Mass of the year - will be at 10:30am.

Families enrolled in our Family Faith Program are also invited to this same event at 9:30am or can alternativity choose to attend on Tuesday, September 19 at 6:30pm. Your choice of these dates will serve as our first Family Gathering for the year!

A Parent Information Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at 6:30pm.

FIRST SACRAMENT REGISTRATION FORMS WILL BE EMAILED TO THE PARENTS OF ALL FAITH FORMATION STUDENTS enrolled in their SECOND YEAR.

Confirmation Preparation throughout the Diocese takes place over the course of two years and begins no earlier than 8th grade. At Holy Trinity, our preparation program begins anew each September and includes weekly catechetical sessions, retreat opportunities, service projects, and regular Mass attendance.

Confirmation Year 1 must be completed before enrolling in Year 2. Students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of Confirmation Year 2.

Catholic School students are excused from attending the weekly classroom sessions as the school curriculum meets this requirement. However, in both years of preparation, they are expected to register and participate in confirmation retreats (one each year), service projects, all scheduled speaker engagements and liturgical special events, as well as regular Mass attendance.

This special opportunity is offered Sunday mornings during our 10:30am Mass and begins on October 22. This program was developed to give younger children a chance to listen and pray at their level of understanding. Children are dismissed from the church and go with leaders to have the scriptures read and explained to them in an enjoyable and interactive environment. Parents are always welcome to attend with their children. Registration is not required for this program.
