Returning Student Registration Information
Registration for the 2023-2024 school year will begin on Monday, February 6! We ask that all families register by March 24, 2023 to allow us to plan for the upcoming year. Payment of fees is not due at this time. Planning includes anticipating class sections and sizes, ordering materials and furniture, and assigning staff. Accurate student enrollment helps us to prepare for student needs and use our resources strategically. We have updated our registration process, so please review our changes below.
What you need to know!
Forms
All registration forms will be completed online through Skyward. Visit www.saltcreek48.org, click on the ‘Registration’ icon, and follow the instructions to access Skyward from a Chromebook or computer; the app will not work for this process. Paper packets will no longer be mailed home.
Fees
There is one annual Instructional/Technology fee of $100 for students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade. This fee allows students to own their Chromebook computers at the end of 4th grade and again at the end of 8th grade. All other fees have been eliminated with the exception of the graduation fee (8th grade) and the (optional) yearbook fee at Albright. Physical education uniforms for Albright M.S. are available for purchase as needed in the fall. Payment of fees is not due at the time of registration but can be paid online at any time, with a final due date of August 4, 2023. The annual fee will be waived for those families who qualify for free lunch through the National School Lunch Program. The application for this program, with updated guidelines, is typically available after July 1 of each year. The district will post the updated application on our website. Fees are paid online using RevTrak. Visit our website and click on the ‘Pay Student & Lunch Fees’ icon.
Proof of Residency
District 48 is utilizing CLEAR/Batch software to verify student addresses and assist with proof of residency. The software accesses public records to ensure that students enrolling in District 48 live within district boundaries. Students who are new to District 48 are required to submit proof of residency documents to the school office. Addresses of returning students will be verified in the CLEAR/Batch software by the end of June. If your address cannot be verified, you will be notified with instructions to verify residency in person. Registration is not complete until residency has been verified.
We are excited for another wonderful school year! Thank you for your partnership in the registration process. Please contact your school office with questions about registration.
Backpacks
We have noticed that students' backpacks are becoming quite full and heavy. Please encourage your students to go through their backpack and clean out anything they do not use on a daily basis. All students have a locker, but very few students choose to use their locker throughout the day. Students can lighten their load by visiting their locker before school, before lunch, after lunch, and after school.
Save the Date for 8th grade Graduation!!
