PTC Blast
March 12, 2020
STEAM Night
*SPECIAL NOTE*
The extended school closure has altered the timeline for sign-ups and poster board delivery. Students will have plenty of time to get their boards ready. They can still work on their projects and prepare materials to simply attach to the board once they have it.
Informational sign up sheets went home last week. Please fill it out and submit to the office by Monday, April 6th. Poster boards will be going home April 8th.
We encourage ALL students (K-5) to participate with a Science Project and/or Art project. Your child can work with a buddy or in a group. Science is all around us so find a topic your child enjoys and be creative in testing out a hypothesis.
Regardless of participation, plan to join us on April 17th to discover the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) together. The evening will include student Science Fair project displays, OMSI presentations, an Usborne Books & More Book Fair, and hands-on inquiry stations.
If you have any questions or need some resources email: Stafford.michelle@gmail.com

Orders will arrive May 9th, just in time for Mother’s Day.
You can also download and print out your order form below.
Auction 2020
Planning for the Auction to improve our school library is really ramping up!
We are still looking for donations! Do you have a business that would like to donate? Can you provide services? We are especially keen to find some big ticket items to provide that WOW factor during the live auction. Own a vacation home? Do people in high places owe you favors?
Complete the form on the website: TerraLindaPTC.org/library or Here
We are looking for volunteers! Know any great public speakers that would be interested in being an emcee or auctioneer for the event? Please contact Kelly Olson at: TerraLindaFundraising@gmail.com.
Makerspace
2-liter Bottles Needed: Pop! Rocket Launcher
What better way to introduce physical science, aerodynamics, and rocket design than by having our Terra Linda students build a paper rocket in the Makerspace room and stomp on a bottle to launch it!
As mentioned in the last PTC posting, a parent volunteer built an air pressure launcher. We certainly want this activity to happen next month, however we need empty 2-liter bottles to complete the activity.
We need a lot of them, at least 5 – 6 bottles per classroom. All students across all grade levels will have a chance to join in on the fun. Please donate as many as you can this month. There will be a collection bin outside the Makerspace Room. The Terra Linda Makerspace Wishlist has been updated.
Sphero Bolt Project
Terra Linda Technology Educator, Rishika Batheja, created a fundraising link to add another robot to the Makerspace tech collection. Please read the recent March 5th Tiger Tale Newsletter for more background Information. We are just over 60% of our goa! For those able to have your company match your contribution, please ensure the donation to Terra Linda Elementary School is directed to the Makerspace Sphero Bolt Project.
We see such awe in the faces of your children whenever we introduce a new activity in the Makerspace room. Please support the cause to reach our $2K goal.
Any questions, please contact Maria Schaeffer at makerspace@terralindaptc.org
