South Side is a Capturing Kids Hearts & PBIS school.
Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) is a program to promote and maximize academic achievement and behavioral competence. As part of the PBIS program, we will establish clear expectations for the behaviors we desire in all areas of our school. We will explicitly teach those expectations and reward students for their excellent behavior. At South Side you can earn GREEN TICKETS! These tickets can be used to purchase items in our PBIS store or can be placed in our weekly drawing!
PBIS will operate in conjunction with Capturing Kids' Hearts. CKH is a program that focuses on building trust between teachers and students as well as between students and their peers. Our goal is to empower students to manage their own behavior in a positive way. Each day our students are greeted at the door, share good things at the beginning of class, and share affirmations with one another.
