Hello Lowell Families,

It is hard to believe that we have just two weeks left of the 2020-2021 school year! There's still so much to do!! Students continue to be active and engaged in their learning. Teachers are assessing and completing end of the year projects. And we are busy planning end of the year celebrations! So much yet to come!

We encourage all of our students to continue to attend school in person and virtually. These last days are just as important as the first ones! Everything we do at the end of the year helps to build a foundation for the start of the next school year!

In order to provide students access to additional academic support opportunities over the summer months, students will be able to keep their iPad and chargers at home over summer break. If your family is planning to move over the summer months and will not be returning to Warren Township, please let your child's teacher know so that the device will be kept at school. Please return the charger to school as well.

If you are interested in a virtual learning option for the 2021-2022 school year, please see below for enrollment information. Enrollment is limited to a select number of students, and an application is required. Families who wish to participate are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

In addition, if you are interested in your child attending summer school, see information below about registration. There is limited space available so register now if you are interested in your child(ren) attending.

Yearbooks that were pre-ordered have been sent home with students this week. We have a limited supply of yearbooks remaining. They are available on a first come, first serve basis. See below for more information.

Our Lowell Elementary yearbook has arrived! Yearbooks have been distributed and sent home with students who pre-ordered.

We have a limited supply of yearbooks remaining. If you would like a 2020-2021 Lowell yearbook, please send in $20 (cash or check to Lowell) with your student or stop by the office. Yearbooks will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Get yours now!

Just a reminder that both Thursday, May 27th and Friday, May 28th are Early Release Days for Students.

Elementary students will be released at 2:05pm on both days. Please plan accordingly.

ALL MEDICATION MUST BE PICKED UP BY THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL.

Please make arrangements to have your student's medication picked up no later than Friday, May 28, 2021. All over-the-counter and prescription medication left at school will be disposed of on June 1, 2021.

NO MEDICATION WILL BE SENT HOME WITH YOUR STUDENT.

Student Textbook/Material collection begins the week of May 24. All textbook/materials must be returned to Lowell.

It is important to turn in materials by Friday, June 4th, to avoid being charged for their replacement.

**Virtual fully students NOT returning to Warren in the Fall should begin returning their technology (including hotspots) beginning, Friday, May 28th.

MSD of Warren Township will continue to offer a virtual learning option for the 2021-2022 school year. Incoming 2021-2022 Kindergarteners are invited to attend Kindergarten Camp at Lowell on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Parents/Caregivers can choose between two sessions: 9:30am or 12:30pm. Parents are required to stay with children during Kindergarten Camp. Registration is required. Please see the flyer below for registration information.

In order to help with some of the recurring app issues some students are experiencing with their iPads, we are sharing this quick how-to-video. This reset will put the iPad into the JAMF management system and allow us to ensure there are fewer issues. After resetting the iPad, you MUST go back into Settings on the iPad and add the student's Apple ID. The Apple ID is the student's email and password. If you have any issues, you can contact technology via the helpdesk or the Moorhead Chromedesk.

Exciting week at Lowell ~~ Cafeteria & Gym are open! 2nd graders moved into their newly renovated classrooms! Love all these changes!

Now that our students are returning to school, we will be making a couple adjustments to our food distribution schedule. Virtual and Hybrid families can pick up food on Tuesdays from either 8:00 - 9:30 AM or 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Moorhead Community Resource Center located at 8400 East 10th Street.

Synergy has a ParentVUE portal that parents can use to monitor students grades, attendance and discipline. Parents can view their students "Warren Password" on the ParentVUE Student Info tab. Parents can click on Student Info and then scroll to the bottom of the page. They will see their students' passwords right below the bus information.

To increase our tech support for students and families, we are expanding our technology help desk hours at Moorhead Community Resource Center.

If for some reason you are not able to access the above times and locations, you can also submit a help ticket through IncidentIQ by clicking on Technology Tab under the Explore Tab and then select Parent Tech Info.

If your household is in need of a hotspot to support virtual learning, please complete the request form below. Once completed, Hotspots will be available to pickup at school. We will contact you when pick-up is available. If you need assistance with completing the request form, please call our front office at 317-532-3900.

1. Contact your child’s counselor or administrator. All of our schools are open during normal school hours.

Mrs. Hand, our school counselor, is available to support all of our Lowell students. A student may be referred to the school counselor by a parent/guardian, staff member or the student may refer themselves.

Thank you for taking time each morning to screen your child before coming to school each day. Below are symptoms impacting consideration for exclusion from school:

● A fever of 100.0° F or greater

● Chills

● Cough

● Muscle or body aches

● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

● Headache

● Sore throat

● Congestion or runny nose

● Fatigue

● New loss of taste or smell

● Nausea or vomiting

● Diarrhea

Students and employees should be excluded from school if they test positive for COVID-19 or exhibit two or more of the symptoms of COVID-19 that are not otherwise explained based on ISDH / MCPHD guidance. If in doubt, please don't hesitate to call school at 317-532-3900 for some guidance. We appreciate your support in doing this important screening step each day before sending students to school.

Please refer to the 2020-2021 MSD WARREN TOWNSHIP S.A.F.E. REOPENING PLAN regarding our safety procedures and guidelines. The plan can also be found on our school and district websites.

Our car rider line has changed locations! The car rider drop-off and pick-up line is now on the SOUTH SIDE (Raymond Street) of the building. DO NOT ENTER OFF OF HUNTER ROAD. All car riders will enter the line off of Raymond Street. There is a circular drive that cars will follow around to the sidewalk. Pull your car to the end of the sidewalk, place your car in park, and wait for staff to signal that students may be released from cars. DO NOT RELEASE STUDENTS UNTIL STAFF IS OUTSIDE AND INDICATES THAT STUDENTS MAY BE RELEASED FROM VEHICLE. WE WILL BEGIN TO RELEASE STUDENTS AT 7:55AM. STUDENTS MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE. PARENTS ARE TO REMAIN IN CARS AT ALL TIMES AND CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE TO WALK STUDENTS INTO THE BUILDING.

Students will only be released on the sidewalk side/passenger side of the vehicle. Please make sure your child is sitting on that side of your vehicle. When the sidewalk is cleared of students, cars will be released by staff to exit back out onto Raymond Street. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE YOUR CAR UNTIL STAFF INDICATES IT IS SAFE TO MOVE. DO NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR RIDER LINE TO MANUVEUR YOUR CAR AROUND OTHER CARS. STAY IN LINE AND FOLLOW THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU SO WE CAN EXIT SAFELY. When the next row of cars are lined up along the sidewalk and are stopped and in park, staff will release the next group of students into the building.

OUR PRIORITY IS TO KEEP STUDENTS AND STAFF SAFE! PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES AND TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF THE LOWELL STAFF. WE APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION.

Please make sure your child has backpack/supplies ready and that good-byes are said before it's time to exit the car. We will not have time to retrieve items or have prolonged good-byes in the morning. We appreciate your help with this!!

Please remember that our Lowell Campus is a smoke-free campus. There is no smoking allowed anywhere on Lowell grounds. This includes smoking in your cars while on the Lowell Campus.
