Awards for Report Cards
This is just a reminder of the message teachers provided to parents in mid-October.
In an effort to take work off teachers' plates, save money, and do better for our environment, we are no longer sending home award certificates (Honor Roll, On Time, Perfect Attendance, etc.) with each report card. This decision was made through feedback from a focus group of teachers and parents.
We understand these award certificates are important for some of you and will happily send them home for parents who still wish to receive the awards. Please complete this form by Oct. 31 to submit your request for awards to be sent home for this grading period. Award Certificate Request Form
End of year awards will still be given to students through a ceremony at school.
On Nov. 1, the list will be printed and will be sent to teachers. Teachers will send the certificates home with students no later than Nov. 14.
Repeated Info
Morning Drop Off
- 6:35-6:45-Once you see adult supervision outside the front doors, students exit the car independently and line up on either side of the front doors and receive a Bulldog Buck. If your child cannot open the door by themselves, please get in line at 6:45 AM or later.
- 6:45-7:15-Safey Patrol is on duty to open car doors for your child(ren).
- 7:15 or later-No Safety Patrol or staff will be outside. You will need to get your child into the front office safely. Students must get a tardy slip if they are not through the main hall double doors by the time the tardy bell rings.
District COVID Procedures
All positive COVID cases must still be reported to the FBC Health Department.
If your child has a positive test result for COVID, please notify our nurse, Jewel Kozak at jewel.kozak@lcisd.org Students with COVID are to follow the CDC guidelines of being out for 5 days from onset of symptoms or the date of the positive test result.
After the 5 days the student may return to school with a mask for the next 5 days.
Our district is not sending out notifications to parents/guardians or staff.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Nurse Kozak. jewel.kozak@lcisd.org or 832-223-4706.
Parent Standards of Conduct
Thank heavens we have such amazing parents at Adolphus! We don't anticipate any issues with this at all!

Parents at Lunch
We have a sign-up form on our Adolphus website.
In order to ensure all parents who want to visit get an opportunity to visit, we ask that parents limit visits to once per month if possible.
This allows your child to develop appropriate social skills during their time to interact classmates during their lunch time.
Please reserve a date to have lunch with your student. Walk-ins are not permitted. Please plan ahead and reserve your special date early. Make sure to sign up for the student's correct grade level on the date you choose. Make sure to select the total quantity in your group (including the student). For example, if mom and dad are visiting select 3 for the quantity to include the student and both visitors. Include the student's name in the comments.
Due to spacing, a maximum of 12 visitors are permitted for each grade level lunch. Please limit 2 visitors per student. Please review the reminders below:
1. On the day you reserved, come 5 minutes early and bring your driver's license.
2. You will only be allowed to eat with your student.
3. Lunch visitors may ONLY be in the main hallway & cafe parent room during your student's lunch period. No visitors in the classroom or playground.
Car Rider Late Pick Ups at Dismissal
School dismisses at 2:40 PM. Please be in the line by 2:50 PM to ensure that you will not be a late pick-up.

Procedures
Smart Tags
Parents, please be sure to create a Parent Portal Account in Smart Tag, to ensure that you know your student’s bus route, bus stops, and other important information to track your student while riding the bus to and from school. All information can be found here: https://www.lcisd.org/departments/support-services/transportation/smart-tag-information
Even if your child is not a bus rider, please create an account because this is how we reunite families in the event of an emergency.
Replacement tags cost $5.
Transportation
All parents will choose one mode of dismissal transportation for their child on a daily basis. We strongly encourage all parents to refrain from calling the front office for transportation changes this year unless it is an absolute need. Students do best when they have one consistent routine when going home, so we want to minimize changes as much as possible.
Though we have a solid system for managing the changes, there is a greater opportunity for mistakes because it is a change of routine. The last thing we want is confusion with your child getting home. Safety is our top concern. :-)
Label Jackets/Sweaters
Drop Off and Pick Up
The fastest and safest way for you to drop off your child(ren) is by staying in the car rider line and dropping at the curb with safety patrol. You may also park on side streets outside of the school zone and walk your child to the front doors. The parking lot is closed during morning drop off in order to keep the car rider line from foot traffic in the crosswalk.
When entering the circle drive please alternate cars turning right and left as a courtesy to all.
For everyone's benefit, please turn right when exiting the school parking lot. This is much safer and helps the flow of traffic more easily.
Set Your Child up for Success!
The students need to be through the front doors by 7:15 in order to not be counted tardy. If you arrive at 7:15 or after, your child will need to enter the main doors of the school to go through the front office to get their tardy slip. That is never a fun way to start their day, so please help get them to school ready for learning by 7:05 AM. :-)
All students in their seats will receive a Dojo point as an incentive to arrive at this time.
