Parent/Caregiver/Educator workshop led by Creative Action Arts Organization. This is the same great company that brought us our Wish Tree this year.
This will be open to all Zilker families/educators and will be a community-centered zoom session meant to encourage dialogue around the theme “Conflict Resolution”.
In “Conflict Resolution: Four Steps to Peace,“ participants will learn a four-step conflict resolution process that can be shared with young people who are having difficulty getting along and/or sharing.
Goals:
- Define conflict and conflict resolution
- Share Four Steps to Peace from The Heroes/Los Heroes,
- Explore why these steps/frameworks are useful, and how we can share them with young people

Throughout February we are spreading the love. The SEL Focus for the month is Kindness. YOU can be the one to make a difference in someone's life this month. What will you choose?
Kind and Brave. In Ms. Vreeland's lesson this month, we are learning about being upstanders. Being an upstander requires kindness and bravery. When we see someone hurt or treated unkindly, we can find the courage to be the one to stand up for the person and show kindness and compassion, even when it is hard. We will discuss that reporting unkind behavior to an adult is another way to be an upstander.
Service Week (2/14-2/18): Every grade level is participating in Service Week this month. It's a way of giving time and lending resources to someone who could use the help. Giving back to our community is one of the ultimate acts of kindness! Look out for an email from your room parent or teacher for specific information!
