Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations continue
Thank you to all the families and faculty who have volunteered their time to help decorate our classroom doors for Hispanic Heritage Month. Also, the Art Festival features art that hangs along the staircase near the back carpool area. Please visit our facebook and instagram pages to view images of all the fantastic artwork.
- Masks: Always carry a spare. Ensure it's a good fit and covers both mouth and nose.
- Parking: Avoid parking on Briarwillow Dr. It makes pedestrian crossing especially difficult.
- Special project: Some classrooms are working on a special project. Please save your empty and clean sanitizing wipes cylindrical containers. Send them in with your child(ren); their teachers will help them get to the right locations.
Upper Campus notes
- Breakfast: Served from 7:30am to 7:55am, students wishing to eat breakfast at school should arrive early enough to complete their meal within the allotted time.
- Briarcliff Rd Crossing: We ask that parents of AM walkers walk your student(s) all the way to the crosswalk/traffic light and ensure they use the crossing safely. Optional yellow flags are available to assist students in crossing this dangerous intersection safely. Encourage them to wave the flags like the Olympic opening ceremonies! It is unlawful and unsafe to cross in the middle of the block. Please stay safe.
- Absentees: Please remember to email both ucfrontoffice@theglobeacademy.net and the teachers whenever your student is absent, even if not for illness. This helps us to keep track of attendance. (LC parents, email lcfrontoffice@theglobeacademy.net).
- New recreational area: We are awaiting the growth of new grass in this area. Please keep off the property until we have confirmation that the ground cover is satisfactory.

Communicating with GLOBE
- Weekly teacher emails: Every Friday, you will receive an email from each of your child's teachers, with details on what they're doing at school. Not receiving these? Please let us know. (You can of course email the teachers with any questions, too.)
- Remind text alerts: Remind is a service that we use to send time-sensitive alerts via text message. (There's also an app available.) If you haven't yet signed up for this, please do so by texting @globers to 81010 for whole school updates.
For Upper Campus messages, send a text message to 81010 with the message @ucgl
For Lower Campus messages, send a text message to 81010 with the message @lcgl
- GLOBE website: This is a go-to source for enduring information. (There's a search option in the top right corner to make it easier to find what you need.)
- GLOBE Facebook page: Don't use social media? No problem. While we know Facebook is useful for many, any critical information shared here will also be shared on other channels.
Board of Directors meetings
GLOBE's governing board comprises volunteers who lead committees focused on Academics, Communication, Development, Diversity, Facilities, Finance, and Strategic Planning; this year, a committee will also convene to renew GLOBE's charter. If you are interested in serving on a committee, please contact board chair Ryan Hudak.
