5th Marking Period Report Cards are available in Skyward Family Access
Frequently Asked Questions about Grading Policy & Future Planning for Summer School
2. Why is the 4th six weeks not included in GPA/Rank calculations? Grade point averages and class rank is based on semester averages (including weighted points). Individual six week averages are not utilized in GPA and rank.
3. What are the plans for summer school original credit and credit recovery? Our scheduled date to announce these plans have been pushed back due to our current learning circumstances. We will have a plan in place to address student needs.
4. What does an Incomplete (I) mean in Skyward? An incomplete in Skyward signifies the student has not completed previously assigned work and will need to contact teacher for further direction.
5. What was used to determine Pass/Fail/Incomplete for the 5th marking period? The 5th marking period included assignments from February 18th through March 12th traditional classroom instruction and assignments and assignments from virtual KISD starting March 30th through April 9th.
Weekly Schedule & Parent Contacts
Mondays-Class assignments are posted to Teams for student access.
Each class assignment will have varying due dates depending on the assignment depth and time. Many due dates are scheduled for end of week or weekend to allow for maximum student flexibility.
If you have questions about assignments or need assistance, students and parents can reach out to teachers. Teachers have established office hours to respond immediately to student and parent concerns. Ask your student about office hours for their teachers.
How can parents see student work and help with progress?
GENERAL QUESTIONS
- Are you able to log in to and submit things? Do you need help with that? Have you asked your teacher for help?
- Are you signed up for Remind (if applicable) so you can easily communicate with your teachers?
- Are you reading agendas and emails from your teachers each week? (Most likely early in the week.)
- Are you working on each subject about an hour per week?
- Are you putting full effort in to that 1 hour?
- Ask your student to share their Microsoft login and check out their teams.
