Email notifications for student sick absences and drop off/pick up changes to the newly created front office email address (listed below), along with your child(ren)'s classroom teacher. This will ensure that all necessary parties are in the know of your child's absence and/or transportation changes.

Attention current 2nd grade parents:

All students entering 3rd grade (2022-2023 school year) are required to have a completed vision certificate on file.

A screening will be valid if completed no earlier than 1 year prior to the first day of school and no later than 6 months after the first day of school.

Here is the state vision screening certificate. The certificate can be faxed to 319-624-4176.

We will host preschool preview on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 2:30pm-3:15pm and 3:45pm-4:30pm. Please use the sign up link below to sign up for your desired session time.

An informational email, with preschool questionnaire and required medical forms included, will be sent out to families within the next two weeks. An updated preschool website will also be available soon.

Kindergarten/Begindergarten roundup sessions will be held on Thursday, April 7. We will have two sessions in order to provide the kindergarten team with a manageable amount of future kindergarten/begindergarten students in each classroom.

Families with last names beginning with A - J should plan to attend the 2pm - 3:30pm session. Those families with last names beginning with K - Z should plan to attend the 4pm - 5:30pm session.

A few things to keep in mind:

• There is no need for families to arrive before their session start time as doors will not open until the set start time, and presentations will begin 15 minutes after scheduled start time.

• Plan to park in the front parking lot (off of Chabal St. & W. Main St.), and enter through the main doors by the front office.

• Current begindergarten students should attend a round-up session, but parents do not have to stay for the presentations.

• There will be a registration table with name tags when you arrive. Staff will be available to assist you as needed.

• PTO, BASP, School Counselor, School Nurse, Principal, and the kindergarten/begindergarten team will be present for each session.

The Lakeview/SIS PTO will be hosting its 10th annual Spartan Dash on April 23rd, 2022 (rain or shine). The Spartan Dash is a fun and crazy fitness event that will serve as the Lakeview PTO's largest fundraiser of the year. Family teams will walk, skip or run through obstacles set up along the one-mile trail at SRNA. The event will not be timed in order to allow children to focus on having fun while being active with their family.

Entry forms and all money should be turned in to Lakeview Elementary.

Photographers will be on site taking fun action photos as well as an end of race family photo. Concessions including Casey's doughnuts, breakfast pizza and other items will be available for sale in the round barn. Last race will start at 11:45 a.m. All participants whom choose to come after 11:45 will be turned away.

IMPORTANT BASP INFORMATION

April 18– 22 / Summer 2022 & Fall 22-23 Registrations

Summer program begins June 6th and ends on August 5th and is held at Lakeview. The program (excluding our PK and incoming fall ‘22 K students) takes field trips three times per week (M, W, F), which includes the Tipton pool and the Mt. Vernon pool. The program offers breakfast, hot lunch and snack. Each summer the program participates in the wonderful Beef Days parade, a local tradition! Come join for a summer of fun and memories!

The Fall 22-23 program begins on the first day of school, August 23rd. All students attend the program at Lakeview, including Intermediate and Middle school age. Don’t miss this opportunity for your child to enjoy a fun and safe place to spend their time before or after school.
