Braemar’s Street Mural
In 2019, parents/guardians, in collaboration with Braemar Elementary School, made a request to the District of North Vancouver (DNV) to create a street mural in the cul-de-sac at the school entrance. This community engagement project aimed to raise awareness about road safety in the vicinity of the school. The project received support from DNV Council, as well as donations for paint and traffic control for deployment.
During the summer of 2023, the DNV will begin routine paving and road maintenance work on Mahon Avenue. This maintenance work is crucial to uphold the overall quality, safety, and functionality of the road. The paving will be completed before the opening of the school in September.
During the repaving activities, the existing road markings and the street mural on Mahon Avenue will be paved over. DNV staff have explored alternatives, but determined the complete paving is necessary.
With full appreciation of how special the street mural is to the Braemar School community, the DNV would like to work collaboratively with our school community to replace the mural following completion of the paving and road maintenance work.

Reminder: Fees for the 2023 - 2024 School Year
A reminder that families will not be required to purchase their own school supplies. Following the practice laid out for Kindergarten supplies, families of students in Grades 1 to 7 will be charged a set fee for school supplies required of that grade. Fees for these supplies will be collected via School Cash Online in September, 2023, and staff will order supplies as needed, helping reduce costs to families. For example, if your child is currently in Kindergarten to Grade 6, the fees will be payable to the school in September.
