Welcome to Summer School 2023!
We are looking forward to seeing our Eagles! Our goal is to provide a wonderful learning experience for our students who demonstrated instructional learning needs during the 2022-2023 school year. Your child's previous grades and assessment results will be utilized to develop targeted interventions to support instructional success.
Food service and transportation are not available during summer school.
We encourage you to bring your child to CISD's summer school program! Please reach out to your child's campus if you have any questions.

Eligible Students
Students who failed ELAR and/or math for the school year
For any student who does not pass the STAAR test in grades 3–8
High school students who do not meet expectations for Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, or US History will be required to attend accelerated instruction in preparation for the summer administration of STAAR End-of-Course.
1st-8th grade ESL students who have an overall rating of Beginner or Intermediate on TELPAS
3rd-8th grade Special education students who are served in resource classes or who are double-blocked for ELAR and/or math
Attendance recovery for grades PK-12
Summer School Dates, Times & Location
Canton Elementary
- Dates: June 5, 2023 through Jun 22, 2023 (Monday-Thursday)
- Times: 8:00 am – 11:00 am
- Location: Home Campus
Canton Intermediate & Canton Junior High
- Dates: June 5, 2023 through Jun 22, 2023 (Monday-Thursday)
- Times: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
- Location: Home Campus
Canton High School
- Dates: June 5, 2023 through June 30, 2023 (Monday-Friday)
- Times: Remote Learning for Credit Recovery, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm for Attendance Recovery & EOC Test Prep
- Location: Attendance Recovery & EOC Test Prep will be held at the HS
Attendance
In order for summer school programs to be effective, attendance is required. No more than two (2) absences will be allowable within a summer school program. Students exceeding this number of absences may be removed from the program.
Disciplinary Procedures
Major violations are grounds for immediate dismissal. Major violations include fighting, cheating, exhibiting disrespectful behavior toward staff and/or students, possession or use of drugs or alcohol, damage to school property, and any behavior that harms the safety of any student or the integrity of the program.
All final disciplinary decisions are at the discretion of campus administrators.
