Happy New Year Hueneme Families! I hope that you enjoyed your Winter Break and are ready for the remainder of the school year! As we begin 2021, please know that the Hueneme Staff continues to be here to support our families! Please do not hesitate to call the office with questions or any additional needs. Hueneme Staff misses having our students on campus and look forward to the day when we can all return together to learn and have fun!

Lunch Bunch: Every Friday Mrs. Shallenberger and Mrs. T host a craft/art activity. If you are interested, please sign up via the google form that is sent out via SMS messages. You can also call the school office for more information.We would LOVE to see our Hueneme students for some fun and relaxing art and socializing. School Reopening: Due to to the rise in Covid-19 cases in the county, HESD will remain in distance learning. We do not have a dates yet on when we will be able to resume in-person learning. Our next School Board meeting for this month is on January 25th. Please continue to look for SMS text messages from the district regarding when our schools can reopen safely.

The Great Kindness Challenge: The Great Kindness Challenge takes place the week of January 25-29. The theme for this year's GKC is Kindness Unites. We hope that your families will join our school in supporting kindesss, compassion, acceptance, and mutual respect.

Hueneme Staff would like to wish all of our families a very Happy New year! As we begin our new year often times we make resolutions: a decision to do or not to do something. Did you make a resolution for 2021? Maybe you will treat everyone with dignity and respect? Perhaps you will eat healthier this year? Last year, I made a resolution to be "on time." Whatever your resolution may be, we wish you well as we set sail into 2021!

Join us this month for a virtual parent meeting to talk about strategies for distance learning. The counselors from Bard and Beach will be joining me in sharing different strategies and information. I will send a reminder and the link a few days prior to the event. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I am hosting a virtual recess that provides students the opportunity to interact and socialize with other students. We do fun activities like Just Dance, Kahoot, Go Noodle, drawing and other games. We meet from 1:00-1:30pm and here are the links for each grade level:
