HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Welcome to 2024 at Johnnie R. Carr Middle School! Our teachers and staff are recharged, rejuvenated, and ready to continue to move forward with your students. You can help us move forward by ensuring your students are completing and turning in assignments on time, studying, conversing with their teachers regarding their progress, and setting goals for the second semester. Remember, TOGETHER, WE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.

IB Learner Profile
IB Learner Profile Trait of the Month: OPEN-MINDED
Students who are OPEN-MINDED know that all people are different. These students listen to the points of view of others and consider many possibilities before making a decision. They celebrate the differences that make all people unique.
How can parents help at home to develop students who are OPEN-MINDED?
Encourage your student to try new things – new foods, new games, and new activities.
Expose your student to different festivals, celebrations, and traditions. Be sure to present them in a non-judgmental way.
Encourage your student to really listen to others when they speak.
Introduce literature about many different cultures into your home library. What did your students learn about other countries or cultures that they didn’t know before?
When you observe your student being OPEN-MINDED, reinforce this positive behavior and use the IB Learner Profile terminology.

Mrs. Farrior's students created an app for a local non profit organization (Anarcha, Lucy, & Betsey Monument). The students researched, designed, wrote, and developed the app then presented it at the Ed Farm Celebration of Learning.
