Our guest speaker for the theme 'Research', Christy, shares the what, why and how of SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning). This is an excellent presentation to review now and in the future for those TechDems who are implementing course interventions in the future in alignment with a research project.

Christy shares how SoTL helps you as an educator build your visibility and networks, get publications and gather resources and evidence for promotion.

The key message is to make your innovative edtech interventions work for you - make it count for your students and for you as well!

At today's CoP I trialled a new tool called mmhmm. I signed up for a 7-day trial, downloaded the app, watched a few 'help' videos and presented the CoP slides via integration with Zoom (the meeting recording shares this more fully). This is a bit of fun, and has much wider applications in terms of video creation...not just presentations.

I encourage you to play - 30 minutes or less and you are up and running with it!

If there is interest I will see if we can purchase a subscription to continue experimenting with in TechDems.
