Harrington Happenings September 18

Hello Harrington Families

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend. We made it through our first full week of school this week, and with any day in a school year we continue to work through adjustments and changes that tend to come with our school. We've had some hiccups regarding the combining of buses which have delayed some arrivals, as well as some missed stops. I'm confident we will work through these speed bumps as they could continue to pop up throughout the long school year. Students are working hard through their bench mark assessments. I look forward to the data we will receive post-assessment to see where our students are at this point in the year. This Wednesday, September 21st will be a half day, please remember that we dismiss students at 11:45.

Also, this Wednesday is our Curriculum Night! This event begins at 5:00 with a brief "Welcome Back" from me and then classroom visits, below is the timeline for our night:

  • 5:00-5:15 Grade 3-4 Welcome Back with Mr. Asselin - Cafeteria
  • 5:25-6:15 Grade Level Classroom Visits (Grades 3-4 only) - Individual Classrooms
  • 6:15-7:00 Music, Art, Library, Computer, P.E., Special Education, Reading, and ELL Staff Members will be in their rooms. Please stop by these areas and meet our Specialists! - Specialist Classrooms.
  • 7:00-7:15 Grade k-2 Welcome Back with Mr. Asselin - Cafeteria
  • 7:25-8:15 Grade Level Classroom Visits (Grades k-2 only)- Individual Classrooms

This event will be an opportunity for teachers to discuss our comprehensive curriculum, not to listen to me talk. I am attaching a school information presentation for you to review prior to Wednesday. This will an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have regarding the presentation.

We are asking that parents/guardians attend by themselves and children should not attend this event. Please note that teachers will not be able to speak with parents individually about their child but will receive an overview of the classroom expectations and routines. If you need to speak with a teacher specifically about your child, please contact them to set up a separate meeting.

Please note that classrooms will be closed until the Grade Level Classroom Visits. If you have children in both grade levels, feel free to attend only one of the Welcome Back Meeting in the cafeteria as it will be the same twice.

Please ensure that you are receiving all communications from the school and that your contact information is up to date. If at any time you have changed your contact information, please let the school know so we can update our systems.

Always remember to…"Push through your day, Smile, Be Happy, Stay Positive!"

Be safe! Stay well!
