Parking & Entrance: Oakwood Grade School Main East Lot
*Childcare will be provided.
Who: Anyone with at least 60 hours of college credit
Why: A Severe Teacher Shortage ~ District Action Plan
Why the meeting?
- To address the national and local teacher shortage that is impacting our school district.
- Our excellent teaching staff has been selflessly shouldering the burden, but the issue’s intensity is becoming too much.
- Your elected Board of Education, Superintendent, Administrators, and educators are contacting you today for help.
- Like many others around us, the Oakwood Community has a long tradition of stepping up to lend support to our children when needed. Oakwood needs you now!
The Plan
- This meeting will outline our plan to address this issue. It involves immediate short-term action and long-term remediation of this issue.
- The immediate short-term action is the reason for this meeting. We need your help!
- School districts continue to face fewer young adults choosing education as a profession. This has resulted in teacher vacancies and fewer substitute teachers for our schools. We need to be creative and innovative in our approach to this crisis because we can no longer continue to fill this substitute void with current staff.
