10/27: Walk-A-Thon
Who loves an awesome fundraiser that lasts for one day AND takes place during school? Teachers love it, families love it, even the kids love it!
Rowe School’s long-standing fundraiser to support our awesome kids will be held on October 27 during school hours! Everyone participates in this fun day! Be on the lookout for fundraising packets coming home with students (brown envelope with an orange letter with a fundraising sheet on the back) or share the fundraising link to collect online donations: https://roweschoolpto.org/walkathon
The funds raised through the Walk-a-Thon help create so much fun throughout the school year, including the new River Otter shirts for everyone to wear on

10/18: Family Science Night
Rowe is so excited to partner with the School of Education at UNE! Future teachers will be setting up in the Rowe Gym and will have a variety of fun and engaging science stations Rowe students can try out. Think Science Fair but I can't promise anyone will simulate a volcano with baking soda and vinegar.
Let's support these burgeoning science teachers while also having fun on a Wednesday night at school! Mark your calendars for Oct. 18th from 5:30-7:30 for Family Science Night.
10/19: PTO Meeting
10/21: Rowe Craft and Quest
Do you love magic? Do you love dragons? Do you love adventure? Of course you do!
Join us on Saturday October 21st at 1pm for a special adventure. This event will include mask making, scavenger hunting, spell casting, and many other fun activities! Costumes/cosplay are encouraged and the PTO will provide some snacks and have spirit wear for sale. Sunday will be used as a rain out day, in case of poor weather.
10/26: Odyssey of the Mind Information Night
Rowe's Odyssey of the Mind parent-led club for fourth and fifth graders will begin their second year this fall. Jason Wheeler from Maine Odyssey will host an information session for Portland area schools and parents here at Rowe on Thursday, 10/26 at 6:00pm.
Rowe celebrated two winning teams last year, and is looking forward to expanding and growing the program this year. If your student is interested in joining OM, please visit the website for more information, or email roweodyssey@gmail.com

Room Parents
We are looking for room parents which is all the fame of being a PTO volunteer but none of the time commitment. Well, hardly none.
Room parents are essentially a liaison between the teacher and other families in the class. Some things you might do as a room parent can include helping coordinate volunteers, create and distribute a directory, and coordinate teacher appreciation gifts.
Sign up here. Contact Ashley Eiler at vicepresident@roweschoolpto.org with any questions.
Lead Volunteer Positions Open
Do you want even more fame than just being a room parent? Consider joining the fun with an official PTO position!
Rowe has a longstanding tradition of active and involved parents, and we’re proud of the work the PTO is able to do. It takes many volunteers to make it happen, and we’re still in need of a few key positions. Please let us know if you’re interested in any of the following roles, we’re happy to chat with you.
Fundraising Chair
Social Media Manager
Your Donations at Work
We hope everyone has heard by now, the new River Otter Rowe shirts are in! We are so excited to get these shirts delivered to students and staff the week of Walk-a-thon so we’ll have a sea of river otters walking around the Rowe campus for our largest fundraiser of the year!
We cannot thank our community enough for the generous support of donations - monetary, in-kind, and volunteer time - to support our school community. So far, we are collaborating with Ms. Lenehan to enhance our beautiful library space and make it easier for all students to navigate as well as supply our MakerSpace with all the tools and supplies to let the children’s imaginations run wild. If you have leftover arts and crafts materials (envelopes, decorative paper, pipe cleaners, glue, small cardboard), we’d love to stock the Makerspace. Please contact treasurer@roweschoolpto.org to discuss further.
