2024-2025 Jazz Auditions
The Jazz Band will be having auditions for the 2024-2025 year during the month of January. If you are at all interested in being a part of the jazz program next year, you are encouraged to complete the audition – it includes one music excerpt and an optional improvisation for those wanting to earn placement in an advanced ensemble. Submissions are due by Monday, January 22nd. You are welcome to submit your audition any time before that. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Baczewski!
2024-2025 Colorguard Auditions Begin This Week
This year auditions for the Allen Color Guard will be VIRTUAL! This means that everything will be self-paced (over 2.5 weeks), and auditions will be submitted through the canvas course. Encourage your non-band friends to audition and join the fun in the 24-25 colorguard. Please see the COLORGUARD WEBPAGE for more details.
UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest (Deadline Passed)
The UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest will be held on Saturday, February 17 at Plano East Senior High School. It is currently past the January 12th deadline and students will be unable to be registered for the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest at this time. If you still have not paid the fee, please link to SchoolPay below or deposit a check in the safe next to Mrs. Fulk's office at AHS as soon as possible ($15/solo or $15/member of an ensemble).
If you missed the deadline and are required to perform a solo with accompanist for Advanced Music, you will need to submit your performance in Canvas since you will not be participating in the Solo contest.
Branson Payment Final Payment Past Due
The final payment for our Spring Trip to Branson was due on Friday, January 12. Based on the CONTRACT, we may remove you from the trip if payments are not made within 7 days from the due date. Please bring in your payment ASAP if you missed last Friday's due date.

2024-25 Allen Band Booster Board
The 2024 Nomination Committee is currently seeking applicants that are interested in serving on the Allan Band Booster booster Association executive board for the 2024-25 school year. Please take a moment to look over the application, and fill it out if you are interested in serving on next year's board in any capacity. If you have any questions you can email the Nominating Committee at nominations@allenband.com. Deadline to fill out the application is February 16. Application HERE.
Event Committee
We are looking for volunteers to serve on our event committee to help with spring events such as banquet and other events. Email Tracy at publicrelations@allenband.com if you are interested.
2024 Leadership & Marching Band Events
The band staff is already preparing for the 2024 marching season. Required spring movement and music camps are not scheduled as of today. The movement and music camps will be scheduled after Spring Break - be on the lookout at a January TWIB Notes for the specific camp dates & times.
If you are interested in trying out for drum major or SLT, we will begin our training/workshops after Spring Break. They will be held (mostly) on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-6pm in the AHS Band Hall. The first 45 minutes will be general leadership/SLT training and the second 45 minutes will be specific training for drum majors. AHS & LFC Wind Ensembles will be required to attend the first 45 minutes of the SLT workshops as part of their Musicianship Class.
