PHS Tardy Policy
Mrs. Conley runs a report from Power School each day to track the number of tardies students have collected from the previous day. The tracking of tardies is simple, the monitoring of students' consequences for being tardy has proven to be more difficult. We appreciate your patience as we continue to work on this process.
PHS Tardy Policy (From the PHS Handbook)
3rd and subsequent tardies will be dealt with by the Office and will include the following:
3rd Unexcused Tardy equals an unexcused absence for that class period = students must take the final exam in that class period.
3rd Unexcused Tardy - Lunch Detention - Failure to serve will result in 30-minute Post School
4th Unexcused Tardy - 30-minute Post School - Failure to serve will result in 1 day FNS to be served on Friday.
5th Unexcused Tardy - 30-minute Post School –Failure to serve will result in 2 days of FNS to be served on Friday and Monday.
6th and subsequent Unexcused Tardy - FNS, Parent call
Sportsmanship and Rule 52
At all events, our goal is to provide a positive experience for our athletes and coaches. We want to cheer them on, provide encouragement and support them whether they win or lose. PHS Pride has been a goal this year, and our students have risen to the occasion, they show up and cheer each other on. I am so proud that our student section is growing into a fun and positive environment for our fans and athletes.
Below is the link to Rule 52 from KSHSAA - I encourage you to review these rules with your family. As we approach basketball season, you will see more leadership from our students in the area of sportsmanship, prior to each game our athletes will provide these reminders to fans to help promote a positive environment.

Coming soon... Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences
I encourage each of you to attend and check in with each of your student's teachers. This time is meant for short check-in meetings as opposed to long conferences.
If there is an issue that will require more time or an increased level of privacy that a traditional conference may not provide, please contact your student's teacher to schedule an alternate time for a private conference.
For spring conferences we hope to be ready to discuss scheduling options for the 2023-2024 school year. This conference set-up will look different than the traditional model that we will use this fall.

Has someone been exceptionally helpful? Did someone do something to make your day? Did a teacher go the extra mile to reach your child? Is there a community member who supports your student or all students?
Please take 2 minutes to recognize a staff member or community member who has made an impact on you. People who make an impact make our school a better place to be!
