Dear Thacher Families:
Do you know a student who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2023? Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is open now! Registration must be completed by May 1, 2023, in order to guarantee placement in your neighborhood school. Visit the APS Registration page for more information. ELC students should not complete the online registration process. As a member of the ELC, your child is already enrolled in Attleboro Public Schools. The ELC to Kindergarten Packet contains information regarding the process to transition your child to Kindergarten.
Our Student Council is sponsoring a Wear Blue Day on Monday in recognition of April being Autism Acceptance Month. Hope to see a sea of blue!
Sincerely,
Frank W. Rich
Principal

Art News from Ms. Dicksonπ¨
Spring has "sprung" in the Art Room!π·ππΊ
Kindergarten students are making patterns on painted paper to create a Colorful Caterpillar Collage in the style of Author/Illustrator Eric Carle "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."ππ
First graders used watercolor paint to create a beautiful Rainbow Garden which was inspired by another Author/Illustrator Lois Ehlert in "Planting a Rainbow." π
In Second Grade we used our Math vocabulary with words such as vertical, horizontal, intersecting, and parallel when we created Art in the style of Piet Mondrian using Primary Colorsβ€οΈππ
Third grade students designed and painted Colorful Fish shaped windsocks which are proudly displayed in our pavilion. They are inspired by a traditional celebration in Japan called "Children's Day." On May 5th, every year families fly kites shaped like carp or koi fish, which represent strength & perseverance.π
Fourth graders are using India ink, bamboo brushes and watercolor paint to create Calligraphy Scrolls. Calligraphy is the Art of beautiful writing. We were inspired by the artistic traditions of China and other Asian culturesππ
