Tech You Have To Try
Spooky Halloween Breakout Room
try this great breakout room Google site for a Halloween treat. Provided courtesy of TCEA. The page contains images, text, and hidden hyperlinks that students can use to solve digital puzzles. A Google Form is used to create the digital locks. In order for a Google Form question to act as a lock, the question needs to have the response validation selected which is already built-in. The most common locks are Direction, Color, Number, Word, Letter, and Date. If you can't figure out the breakout room answers you can always email preimers@tcea.org for the answers, or reach out to me at cenriquez@esc18.net.But give it a try first! Ambient Mixer
What better way to bring to life Halloween then to incorporate some ghostly sounds and ambient music. Ambient mixer is a great way to add background sound, mixes and sound fx to any classroom. It has tons of Halloween mixes but it doesn't stop there. using Ambient mixer you can bring numerous sound fx, themes or sounds from movies or moods. It;s a great way to add a little spice to your class for free. To learn more or to start hearing some ghoulish sounds click here.
Turn Off the Lights
Curl up and watch a creepy movie this Halloween and make your computer, Chromebook, or projector set the right mode. Dim webpages, videos, YouTube channels for a more dramatic and cinematic effect when watching or showing a video. This chrome extension dims the entire screen with the exception of the video itself. Perfect for watching a movie, video or screen on a dark scary Halloween night, or in your blood-curdling classroom. To download or learn more click here.
Build a Jack-O-Lantern template
Courtesy of EduTech4Teachers here is a great Jack-O-Lantern Template in Google Slides for students to build their own Jack-O-Lantern and then practice writing skills by describing their ghastly creation. The template comes with numerous eyes, mouths and features to add to the pumpkin or student scan search for more by utilizing Google search for images right in slides. To create a copy of the template you can click here.
