Dear Tiger Family,

We hope this newsletter finds you well and that you're having a fantastic start to the school year! We have some exciting updates and important reminders to share as we embark on the second week of learning and growth at CSPES.

Welcome Kindergarten Tigers: We extend a special and warm welcome to our newest members, the kindergarten class! It's their first day as a whole class, and we're thrilled to have them join our CSPES family.

Enhanced Communication: This week, our dedicated staff is focusing on increased communication through Class Dojo.

Enrichment: We're working hard to improve the structure of our Enrichment programs, offering students more opportunities for exploration, creativity, and personal growth. Look forward to exciting Enrichment activities in the weeks ahead!

Arrival and Dismissal: Safety is paramount, and we're continuously working to enhance arrival and dismissal procedures. Please ensure that you are being safe in the car rider line, taking turns in the merge lane, and watching for ongoing traffic when turning onto Signature Drive.

Great First Week: We had a fantastic first week, and the positivity and teamwork within our CSPES family were truly remarkable. Thank you for your support and appreciation—it means the world to us!

Visitor Policy: While we love having visitors, we kindly request that if you would like to visit your child's classroom, please schedule a time to do so with the teacher. This ensures a smooth and productive learning environment.

Your Voice Matters: Thank you to those who provided feedback during our week 1 check-in. Your voice is essential and is taken into consideration as we make decisions to enhance the CSPES experience.

4. Labeled their students book bag and any sweaters or jackets that will be coming to school
5. All students will receive or have received a copy of the AACPS student handbook. Please review the Student Handbook. Upon review please sign the form on the Parent Portal at www.aacps.org/parentportal (click the “Forms” link in the left side panel). For families who are unable to access PowerSchool, please complete the signature page included in the handbook and return it .

CSPES Spirit days are an opportunity for students to dress out of uniform. If out of uniform students must be dressed according to the theme.

For Spirit Wear Days, students can wear anything that is orange and black. We hope that parents will join in the color scheme too. Feel free to get crazy with it. Silly hats, silly socks, tutus and even orange wigs are all welcome.

As a reminder, we are a uniform school. All uniform tops must be purchased at Flynn O Hara. You can find our complete uniform policy HERE. We are aware that there is a back up in orders. If you currently have a pending order with Flynn O Hara, your student is permitted to wear any color polo until you receive your order. We will be communicating with Flynn O Hara on a daily basis to get order updates.

All kindergarten and 1st grade students need to bring an extra change of clothes in case of an accident. These can be any plain colored pants and shirt.

The CSPES PTO has been hard at work to get ready for the school year and we're excited to share the below updates with you -

• Join our CSPES PTO! Help us reach our goal of 100% family and teacher participation by signing up today to support our CSPES students and school! Volunteering is not required, though of course we appreciate all offers to help.
