Message from Dr. Johnson
Teachers
This week we celebrated our teachers. I am extremely proud of the hard work and dedication you all exude to ensure our students have what they need to succeed. I encourage you to continue your work and passion and always remember your "Why." Again, thank you for all that you do in CCSD.
Nurse Appreciation Week
Our school nurses ensure that our students and staff are healthy to work and learn. Thank you for providing your expertise and care in our buildings each day!
The End is Near
As we approach the end of the school year, we will continue to monitor our buildings to ensure the safety of our staff and students. Remember that our students and parents may use the STOPIt app to report anonymous tips about school incidents.
Again, please check with your student's school for end-of-the-year program dates and times.

Academic Success
Gates Scholarship Recipient
We are thrilled to announce that Nnamdi Hopkins has been awarded the prestigious 2023 Gates Scholarship. Nnamdi is a senior at Scott's Branch High and is the first student from our school to receive this honor. Nnamdi was one of 750 awardees out of 51,000 applicants putting him in the top 1.5% in the Nation!
Nnamdi is a true example of excellence, as he has achieved outstanding performances in various activities. As a ranking member of the JROTC program, he has demonstrated leadership and dedication. He also actively participates in the school's athletic department as both a track runner and a manager for the girls basketball and volleyball programs.
We are incredibly proud of Nnamdi for this incredible accomplishment and wish him all the best for his future endeavors with the scholarship. Let's congratulate Nnamdi for his hard work and for shedding a light of Academic Excellence on Scott's Branch and the Summerton community.
