From the Nurse's Office
Hello Indian Grove School Families,
My name is Yazmin Gonzalez, I am the new school nurse for Indian Grove School. I wanted to
share a couple of fun facts about myself. I worked at Northwest Community Hospital for the past nine years. For the last two years, I worked in the surgery department. I’ve also been a per diem clinical nursing instructor at Harper College for the past three years. I enjoy traveling with my family and reading a good book.
I have two kids attending River Trails District. I have a 6th grader in River Trails Middle School and a first grader in Euclid School. We are so proud to be part of River Trails School District.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone, so please feel free to introduce yourself if you see me on campus!
I would also like to make parents aware of a few items that may be coming home.
I am in the process of reviewing immunization records. If your student is missing one or more of the required immunizations and does not have a medical or personal beliefs exemption on file, you will be receiving a letter home along with a list of the state required immunizations. The school absolutely needs this information back, as soon as possible.
If your child needs a medication at school for any length of time, the school will need a current medical authorization along with the medications. Please look for this information to come your way if this pertains to your student. These forms can be found in the office. If your student has a chronic medical condition or a new health concern and the school is unaware, please email me so that we can set up a time to discuss your student’s needs.
My goal is to team with you to ensure your child’s health and safety while they are at school. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance. Here’s to a great school year!
Sincerely,
Yazmin Gonzalez, MSN, RN
