In the month of September, the school counselors will be going into all classes TK-6th grade to teach students about Coping Skills. With Coping Skills, children can learn to manage difficult emotions and gain resilience. This will serve them well as they continue and grow and face more difficult challenges. PAWS Expectations of the Month

At Ernie Pyle, we follow the acronym PAWS:

P: Be Proactive.

A: Act Respectfully and Responsibly.

W: Make Wise Choices.

S: Be Safe.

In September, we are focusing on Acting Respectfully and Responsibly. Some examples of what this looks like, is using our best manners with our peers and teachers, conversing appropriately and at a level 1 or 2 while in the cafeteria, keeping the restrooms clean, cleaning up after ourselves after we play, and listening and following directions. We encourage you to talk to your student at home about ways they can also Act Respectfully and Responsibly at home and with their families.
