September 2022 Lunch Menu

Please CLICK HERE to visit the WTS Sodexo Website. Here you can find all information about meals offered at LVMS. Parents are HIGHLY encouraged to register for and create a MealTime Account for their student. Through MealTime, families can add money to a student's lunch account online and monitor student spending virtually. This method is preferred as it is a cashless option.

For your information, the free meal program for all students ended at the conclusion of the 2021-22 School Year. If you require information about free and reduced lunch programs, please visit the Sodexo Website where it will direct you to the appropriate forms. Any questions regarding school lunches can be directed HERE.

At the end of the week all students will be completing the New Jersey Start Strong Assessment. The purpose of this state testing is to provide the district with an early indication of the level of support students may need based upon the prior year’s academic standards. Included is the testing schedule and some general reminders:

Testing Schedule:

Thursday, September 8th - Grades 6-8 : English Language Arts

Friday, September 9th - Grade 6-8: Mathematics

Monday, September 12th - Grade 6: Science

General Reminders:

• Charge your ChromeBook fully the night prior to testing
• Try to be on time and present in school these three days

Please reach out to your grade level counselor with any specific questions! They are here to support all of our students as they transition into a new grade level and navigate middle school.

LVMS Peer Leaders and School Counselors will be hosting a welcome breakfast for all students new to the district on Wednesday (9/7) during Homeroom. New students will be given the opportunity to talk with Peer Leaders and School Counselors, learn more about LVMS and the activities and clubs offered at the middle school and ask any questions they may have.

All families should have received an invitation email to enroll in PickUp Patrol (email came directly from PickUp Patrol). If you have not already, please register for and create your account.

PICKUP PATROL IS CURRENTLY LIVE AND PARENTS ARE ALREADY ABLE TO UPDATE STUDENT ATTENDANCE AND PICK UP INFORMATION.

LVMS will utilize PickUp Patrol in the following ways:

• Reporting Student Absence from school (sick, doctors appointment, etc.)
• Reporting a student coming to school late
• Requesting to pick up a student early from school
• Giving permission for a student to walk home after school or NOT take the bus.

LVMS will continue to accept phone calls for absences / hand-signed parent notes for early dismissal and walking until October 1, thereafter all LVMS Parents/Guardians will be expected to enter ALL attendance information exclusively on PickUp Patrol.

Parents can access PickUp Patrol by visiting the LVMS Website Main Page and clicking the "Attendance / Dismissal" Button below the video footage. Parents can also utilize and bookmark the following website or click the button below.

It is preferred that LVMS students ride buses to/from school. Since our parking lot is not structured for parent drop-off or pick-up, our buses are the easiest way to ensure timely arrival and dismissal. Of course, we know this is occasionally necessary and information specific to those procedures will be coming to parents soon. Please note that, effective immediately, students will not be permitted to enter the building until 8:30am unless they are participating in a club/program meeting before school begins - the club/program advisor will arrange to meet the students at our main entry on club days and provide supervision before the school day begins.

There are MANY great clubs at LVMS! For more information, visit the clubs and activities page of the LVMS Website for full descriptions, as well as contact information for club advisors. In the upcoming weeks, club advisors will put out information about signing up, specific meeting dates and locations, etc. As a reminder, to participate in any club, there is a $50.00 club participation fee.

ALL STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN CLEARED TO TRYOUT FOR FALL SPORTS SHOULD PLAN TO ALSO BRING REGULAR SNEAKERS IN CASE IF TRYOUTS ARE MOVED INDOORS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.

As a reminder, the deadline for all sports forms and physicals has passed. Late forms will, unfortunately, not be accepted.

If you are interested in trying out for the LVMS boys soccer team, please sign up outside room 38, near the main office. There will be a sign up sheet as well as a player survey to be completed and returned to Coach Petrucelli.

Girls Soccer Tryouts will be held on 9/8, 9/12, and 9/14 from 3:30 - 5:15 PM. Participants should plan on attending all 3 days of tryouts.

Boys and Girls Cross Country Orientation is Wednesday, September 7th in the North Gym from 3:30 PM — 4PM. There will be no physical activity planned for this day! Please arrange for transportation/parent pick up at 4 PM.

Practice begins Thursday, September 8th. Please remember to bring a change of clothes for fitness, a refillable water bottle and sneakers. Please make arrangements for transportation/parent pick up at 4:45 PM.
