Morning Dropoff

Students can be dropped off beginning at 7:15 each morning. Please do not drop them off before that time because there is not an adult to supervise them.


For students who are attending morning tutorials beginning at 7:00 am, please wait until 7:00 and the teacher is present to drop them off.

Reading Initiative!

One of our most important goals for Clarkston this year is to increase the reading success of every student on our campus. In order to do that, we have implemented several action items to encourage reading for our students.


  • The 40 Book Challenge
  • The only required homework at Clarkston is for students to read for 20 minutes and get their reading log signed.
Students are in the process of creating individual and class goals for completing this important daily task.

Please encourage your child's participation in the 40 book challenge as well as requiring your child to complete their 20 minutes of reading 5 nights each week and sign their reading logs.

District Benchmarks are Coming Up on November 16-18

Please make plans to help your child:

  • Go to bed on time each night.
  • Drink plenty of water each day.
  • Eat a hearty breakfast each morning.
  • Be on time to school.

November is Habit 3: Put First Things First

This means I decide a task's importance and urgency. My goal is to live in quadrant 2 where my tasks are important, but not urgent.

School Attendance

Clarkston Elementary's Attendance Goal for 20-21 is 96%. Please make sure your student is at school on time each day. Breakfast is served from 7:15-7:45. Important announcements are shared at 7:40, and instruction begins at 7:50 am.


UPDATE: Many classes had perfect attendance each day last week!! Great job students and parents!

TECHNOLOGY DEVICE AGREEMENT DEADLINE

All Clarkston Elementary students use a Chromebook/iPad in class daily. If you haven't already, please sign the Technology Device Agreement digitally for each student in the family in the Parent Self Serve Portal. Tyler ISD requires all students to have this signed in order to use district-provided devices.


The Parent Self Serve Portal can be found on the campus homepage (or with the link below). An agreement must be signed for all students in each family.

Backpack Club

Backpack Club

Your child is able to participate in the Backpack Program, offered by the East Texas Food Bank. The program is dedicated to improving the lives of East Texas children by providing backpacks full of kid-friendly foods that do not require refrigeration for the weekend.

40 Book Challenge!

Clarkston Elementary is starting its first annual Forty Book Challenge!

Goal: Students will read 40 books before Christmas Break!

These books can be read independently, with someone, or read aloud to students.

There will be prizes for our winners!

We need your help!

Clarkston Library Media Center is missing 200+ books from the Spring semester. Please check for any library books at home and return them to campus as soon as possible.

Check with your child's teacher or school librarian for more information.
