Trivia Night is tonight!
Tonight is Trivia Night at Ironwood Golf Course. The proceeds will be going to update the playground equipment at the Intermediate School. Most of the equipment is outdated and some is so old that there aren't even any replacement pieces. Our playground equipment is used every day and is a great way for our students to get activity during the day. If you can't make it to Trivia Night, there will be other fundraisers to help out with this project. Thanks for your continued support.

Great Kindness Challenge
This week was the Great Kindness Challenge. Our kids were involved in a variety of activities.
Monday was Be Kind to the Earth- No waste lunch day
Tuesday was Be Kind to our Community- Place mats for Children's Hospital
Wednesday was Be Kind to our School- Students appreciated staff groups
Thursday was Be Kind to our Friends- Post it notes on all the lockers
Friday was Be Kind to ourselves- Pajama Day
We hope to continue this theme of kindness throughout the rest of the school year. As I tell the kids often, "It's easier to be nice than it is to be mean."

#WHYITEACH and #WHYILOVEBEINGAPRINCIPAL
As many of you know, I'm connected on Twitter and Voxer (two social media apps) with a wide range of educators throughout the country. One of the groups, #principalsinaction, shared the hashtags #WHYITEACH and #WHYILOVEBEINGAPRINCIPAL as a challenge. Needless to say, I love a good challenge. Here are a few of the staff with their pictures and word bubbles explaining #WHYITEACH. I also included mine. Look for an animoto video in next week's smore with many of the staff.
