From the Principal
Ranger Patrons,
Raymond Park looks forward to welcoming our 6th-8th grade hybrid, in-person learners back this week. All Rangers are reminded of the safety measures that are in place to keep kids healthy and our doors open...
Safety. RP will continue to follow the SAFE Reopening Plan to better ensure everyone's safety during the pandemic. Students are reminded that face masks and social distancing are required. Frequent handwashing and sanitizing will also be scheduled into the daily schedule. Recent updates from health officials discourage the use of face shields as a replacement for face masks. All MSD of Warren Township staff and students should wear face masks unless an extenuating circumstance exists and a face shield is needed. School administrators may approve the use of a face shield in these cases.
Students should not attend school if they are close contacts to a positive Covid case, are awaiting results of a Covid test or exhibit two or more of the following: ● A fever of 100.0° F or greater ● Cough ● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing ● Sore throat ● Fatigue ● Chills ● Muscle or body aches ● Headache ● Congestion or runny nose ● Nausea or vomiting ● Diarrhea ● New loss of taste or smell.
As we prepare for the potential of inclement weather in the week ahead, an inclement weather delay and closing FAQ has been created to address this during the IN-PERSON, VIRTUAL, and HYBRID window. The FAQ can be found on our website by clicking District Information under the Explore Tab. A common mistake in reviewing the list of schools affected by weather is confusing MSD Warren County (not RPIMS) with MSD Warren Township. Be mindful that weather and schedule may be different between the two corporations, and MSD Warren Township is the school system that includes Raymond Park.
Important P-EBT Update. The Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) has updated its estimated issuance date to February 28, 2021. For more information, visit https://www.warren.k12.in.us/article/388678?org=msd-of-warren-township, which includes links to the FSSA P-EBT webpage and FAQs.
Tech Support. Warren is expanding our technology help desk hours at Moorhead Community Resource Center! Our new hours will be Monday-Friday from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. K-4 VIRTUAL students with iPad issues should be brought here. Chromebooks can still be brought to any of the three Intermediate Middle Schools during school hours, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday,, or the Chromedesk at the High School during 1st and 2nd period, Monday - Friday. If you cannot access the above times and locations for some reason, you can also submit a help ticket through IncidentIQ here.
Student Food Distribution.
Grades K-4. 100% VIRTUAL families can pick up food on Tuesdays from either 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Moorhead Community Resource Center 8400 East 10th Street.
Grades 5-12. Now that our students returning to school, we have made some adjustments to our food distribution schedule. 100% VIRTUAL families can pick up food on Tuesdays from either 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Moorhead Community Resource Center located at 8400 East 10th Street. Raymond Park and Warren Central High School will no longer be food distribution sites. However, all hybrid in-person students will have the opportunity to pick up meals while in-person to take home for the following day. Please encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity!
Parent Recommendation Form - High Ability 2021-22. The High Ability Program Parent Recommendation Form for the 2021-2022 school year is now available through March 26! Students are identified for the program based on state and District criteria, including achievement test scores, student ability, and parent and teacher recommendation. Parent recommendations are considered but do not guarantee placement in the High Ability Program. For placement consideration, please submit a parent recommendation form here.
Schedule Reminders. Tuesday, February 16, is an eLearning Day for all students. We will resume all of our learning models on Wednesday, February 17. Students (Grades 6-12) in the Hybrid In-Person model will return to following the Black and Gold schedule. The schedule can be located in our SAFE Reopening Plan and is also published below in this newsletter. Students and families can expect communication from their child’s bus driver to communicate bus stop information and pick up times by Tuesday morning, February 16. If you have not received a call by Tuesday morning, please contact transportation at (317) 532-2820.
NWEA Testing will begin Friday, February 19 for virtual learners, and February 22-March 5 for hybrid-in-person learners. As NWEA testing may occur off-site for virtual learners, caregivers of virtual learners will benefit from reviewing the NWEA Guidance for Caregivers.
Proud to be a Ranger,
