Mill Valley Weekly
May 4th, 2023
Hello Mill Valley Families,
We are celebrating Staff Appreciation Week here at Mill Valley! This week gives us the opportunity to recognize and express our gratitude for the hard work, dedication and achievements of our outstanding educators. Teaching is a challenging and demanding profession, requiring patience, dedication and a deep commitment to our students.
Yesterday, we treated our staff to some amazing coffee drinks and shakes provided by the Better Together Cafe! All of us here at Mill Valley are definitely BETTER TOGETHER too. Thank you to our incredible PTO for all of the special treats this week!
Sincerely,
Robin Schrot, Building Principal
Allyce Harris, Associate Principal
Attention Walkers & Bikers
Students who are walking or riding a bicycle/scooter home should report to the main office. If accompanied by a parent, they may leave at dismissal. If students are walking/riding without a parent, they must wait until all buses have been released. At this point, an office staff member will escort the students across the street at the crosswalk. Students should also have a yellow note completed indicating that they have parent permission to do so.
For your convenience, you may download a yellow note HERE, or pick up a yellow note pad from the main office.

2023-2024 Student Summit
The last few months you have seen our Student Summit “Save the Date” flyer regarding an exciting opportunity for students, families and teachers! We are looking forward to hosting our annual district wide Elementary Student Summit on August 21st and 22nd.
The purpose is to support the transition into a new school year by learning information about a student and for a student to begin building a relationship with their teacher. All participating students will engage in a get to know you activity and possibly be given the opportunity to complete beginning of the year academic assessments. Parents/guardians are asked to stay on site to engage with materials from their child’s teacher.
You will receive additional information the first week of August. This communication will include the option to select a time slot on either August 21st 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM or August 22nd 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Once you receive our summer communication, please complete the registration by Tuesday, August 15th.
