Hello Spicewood Family!

We have had a busy week here at Spicewood and it is not over yet! I know I will be seeing many of you at the Auction and Gala tomorrow night. Thank you in advance for everyone who has worked on this to help raise many for all of our students.

Hope Church has asked me to remind everyone to please not park in their circular drive. They need to keep that area clear. We are fortunate that they allow us to utilize their parking lot at times and we want to make sure and keep that partnership. Please only park in marked parking spots if you are choosing use Hope to attend to Spicewood business.

As many of you may have noticed we have a large portion of our fence down on the side of our outdoor space that lines Anderson Mill. The district immediately took action to help us get this repaired. Unfortunately this is something that is taking a bit longer due to insurance processes. I have been checking on this frequently and will continue to do so until it is repaired.

Parents: In order to adequately plan for next year, and to ensure your child is placed in a class, please complete the 2023-2024 Enrollment Form for each of your children in grades 1-4 by Monday, April 10. Thanks!

Thank you to so many families for their contributions to One World One Night. We started the day with students celebrating their cultures through traditional clothing at school, continued with our staff being fed wonderful food from all different countries, and ended with a well attended event that showcased our Spicewood families.

I would like to also make sure to thank the Spicewood Diversity and Inclusion team for putting everything together under the leadership of Kitty Woo Ham. Another thanks to Elizabeth Schuster for organizing the story times in the library, Ms. Brown and Mr. Weed for leading and organizing the choir performance, and to Mrs. Castelain and Ms. Jones for displaying their students beautiful artwork throughout the building.

This was a true community event and the turnout was amazing!

Congratulations to all of our students who have been participating in chess at Spicewood and attending Round Rock chess tournaments. We are so proud of your growth in the game!

Our annual Field Day will be on Thursday, April 20th. Show your spirit and support the PE department by ordering a Field Day shirt today! Order forms can be found in your child's Friday Folder as well as downloaded here. This is a fundraiser to help with the purchasing of inflatables on Field Day and equipment for the students throughout the school year. Please turn in order forms and payment by Friday, March 31st!

We are also looking for volunteers to help make the big day feel special and run smoothly! If you're interested and available, please take a moment to fill out our Sign-Up Genius and sign up for one (or more) 50-minute time slot. Thank you so much!!!

It is time to begin enrolling your incoming kindergarten students. Online enrollment opened on March 7th. We will have a Kindergarten Round Up event in May. Please visit the website on the flyer to begin submitting documents and completing enrollment.

If you know of any kindergarten age children that will attend Spicewood, please spread the word that it is time to enroll!
