This is a reminder that we will be having a staff workday on October 7th. With this staff workday there is no school for students. Please spend time reading with your child and reviewing the things that they are learning here at school and we will see them on Monday October 10th.

Downloading the Manara Academy App will help us stay connected. We will celebrate good news, share accomplishments, deadlines and events. Did you know you can set the app to your preferred language by going to settings and selecting your language choice? Great news Manara! We are making strides for improvement every day!

Our third Family Fun Night at school is coming October 13th. We will have a presentation over our online tutoring platform Paper. Come learn about this wonderful resource available to 5th graders and up and spend time with teachers and fellow classmates playing games and enjoying yourself.

Just a reminder that school uniforms are required for every one. Please ensure that your scholar is in school colors if you have not gotten a uniform yet. The school unifroms show pride in our school and a commtment to excellence. Please ensure that your child is wearing theirs everyday. you will find an attached uniform letter that went home with all studnets today.

The safety of our students is a high priority for all of us here at Manara. Today we ran 4 of our state mandated drills around school safety. There were a lot of questions around them and some even stated that we scared them because we ran them. Some of our younger students even asked their teacher what happens to Ms. Amanda at the front desk and Mr. Wilshire because they are not locking down. The teachers had conversations around this is a drill and they are ensuring that we are safe but if it was real, they would be. Please have a conversation with your child around the importance of conducting lockdown drills, fire drills, severe weather drills and things of that sort. If you are unsure what to say to them, please reach out to me and I can help you with that.

We will be hosting an Arabic Spelling bee in December. If your scholar, makes it to the finals they will have winter break to study. I am looking forward to seeing all the knowledge that the students can share.
