Greetings TVMS community,
We had a great opening week to the 2023-24 school year! There was a lot of positive energy in the building as students found their way around to their new classes and learned about TVMS expectations and classroom routines. We are off to a great start and look forward to this being an exciting and rewarding school year for our Timberwolves. Please read below for some important information and a few reminders.

Back to School Night- Thursday
Back to School Night is this Thursday 9/7. This is a great opportunity for you to meet your child’s teachers and get insight on what they will be learning this year. Our program starts at 6:30 PM and lasts until about 8:00 PM. Upon arrival, parents will receive a copy of their child’s schedule and report to their child’s first period class.
We have scheduled for parents to spend 7 minutes in each class with 4 minutes transition time in between each class.
For those of you who are interested in attending the GT program presentation or the Sexual Health program preview, they will meet in the Media Center at 6:15 PM.
GT Seminars
G/T Seminars are open to all students at Thomas Viaduct Middle School. We have seminars such as African American History, Book Club, Debate, Math/Logic, Photography, Television Production, and Writer's Workshop. These seminars occur during the school day and you (the student) would be pulled out of one of your classes to attend the seminar. It is expected that you make up whatever you miss from that class as we do not want the seminar to negatively impact your learning. You must always inform your teacher that you have a seminar and it is the teacher's decision if you are able to miss class that day. If there is a quiz/test, you must stay in class. Students are responsible for making up any work they miss in class due to attending the GT seminar.
Cell Phone Expectations
To support this, please refrain from calling or texting your child during school hours. If you need to get a message to them or contact them, please call the Front Office at 410-313-8711
