From Our PTO President
The PTO Board is currently accepting nominations for the 2020-2021 school year. Positions open include President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Voting will take place during our next meeting on May 19th, at 4pm and the term will begin June 1st.
What does being on the PTO Board mean?
- Board members work closely with teachers, principal, and staff members to find and fund equipment and events for our students.
- Board members represent parents who cannot attend meetings
- Board members serve as a resource for other parents
- Board members have the interests of all Roosevelt families in mind
- Board members attend monthly PTO meetings and support PTO work throughout the school year
Over the past year, the Roosevelt PTO has worked closely with staff members to continue some of the same things you are used to seeing, such as the Book Fair, Touch a Truck, and Conference Meals. We've also seen some new fundraising with My Local Deals. Our PTO had a new opportunity presented to us by a teacher which led to the purchase of Ozobots for our students to use. Now, the PTO has been working to still bring Rock the Walk to our kids, in a virtual manner. Rather than just waiting for next year, our board and committee members brainstormed the Safer at Home Rock the Walk to continue bringing together our Roosevelt Community.
All parents are invited to join our PTO. We look forward to new faces and ideas next year!
