Welcome Back!
South Side Families,
The 22-23 school year is off to a great start! Your student has been busy the first weeks of school meeting new friends, learning about their new classroom, practicing school expectations, adjusting to early mornings again, and LEARNING! Your child has a packed daily schedule that includes a morning meeting, English/Language Arts, Math, Specials (Art, Gym, Music, Stem, Library) lunch, and recess. They are BUSY! Our goal is to light a spark in every student and create a love of learning.
Thank you for your support and partnership as we begin our new year,

"If you have a child's heart... you have a child's mind." ~Flip Flippen
Using a character based- curriculum our staff and students focus on a relationship driven culture and connectedness. We believe in creating a welcoming and safe environment where students feel connected and are eager to learn.
PBIS- Positive Interventions and Support
PBIS is used to promote school safety and good behavior. The goal of PBIS is prevention and positive behavior. PBIS it used to teach expectations and strategies so that all students are successful. Ask your student how they can earn a green ticket or life skill buck!
I am incredibly proud of our staff for their hard work and dedication to make South Side the very best! Their passion for students and learning is what sets them apart from the rest. #SOUTHSIDEROCKS

Mrs. Snyder's classroom building their Social Contract
All SS classrooms spend the first week building their social contract. This is an agreement of behavior that gives students ownership in how they will treat each other and learn together.
4th Grade Students Learning and Practicing School Wide Expectations
Our SS students spend time the first few weeks of school learning and practicing expectations in all areas of the building.
Morning Meetings
Each classroom starts the day with a morning meeting where students learn about and discuss our monthly life skill. This month we are learning about EMPATHY.
