Grade Level and Department News
First Grade:
Reminders:
Sight words and take-home books should be reviewed daily
Please be mindful of attendance
Please be sure your child has a water bottle, as well as an extra mask every day
Next week, we will be learning about groundhogs/Groundhog Day, length, and mapping skills. Take a minute and discuss what they’re learning!
Second Grade:
Please continue to read AR books and complete the reading log each night. Make sure that all assigned homework is completed and returned to school. Continue to work on CVC/CVCe words and math facts with sums to 20. Although students have made tremendous growth, they still need to practice foundational skills to become better readers and mathematicians.
Students should bring an extra mask and water bottle to school each day. As a reminder, If students are bringing lunch to school they must bring items that are fully cooked and don’t require warming. We are not allowed to cook or warm food for students in the cafeteria. We thank you for your support in this effort!
Resource:
The WPS Music Department web page has pictures and videos of performances.

From The Nurse's Desk:
It has been a very busy January at WPS School Nurse office. I appreciate everyone’s endeavors at keeping WPS notified of any needs or concerns with our students. It is so important. Please remember to update phone numbers if they change so that we can contact you if needed. I do want everyone to know that we can do COVID testing on symptomatic children. If this is something you would be interested in, please go to our school’s web page and click on the section about COVID testing. It will tell you step by step how to register your child. They must be registered on the site. Your child will NEVER be tested without your acknowledgement. It is a PCR test, meaning it is not a rapid test, and they will still need to go home until results are in due to having symptoms. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the school!
